that or an option for Dalish supremacy (ya, not likely but I can dream.)

llol you already can shoot fireballs at fools and shock. Them to death so I'd say your wish is already there :P

I know! Isn't it wonderful? Let's hope that we can keep doing it!

There are a lot of things that I would like to see in DA:I. Many of them are already established part of this series so it is just matter of some improvements (like for example amount of freedom in creating unique personality for the protagonist. So far it is very limited in ME series and DA 2). However there is one thing that (from what I have heard) will be new in Bioware games.

I am talking about complex crafting system which allow me to create unique style for the protagonist. I assume that for most of us items/armor/weapon are not just some stats boost. It is also (and perhaps primarily) about image of the protagonist. In previous DA/ME games I often had to choose: either you can look like you want or you can have armor/weapon stats that you want.

It was problematic, especially because I mostly play on nightmare/insanity difficulty level. I have to therefore be able to wear the best possible armor/wield the best possible weapon (depending on my strategy). But what, if the best possible armor/weapon does not represent my style and it totally breaks my immersion?

So my biggest hope is: be able to create my own weapon, armor/robe/clothes and other items, defining not only statistics but above all visual aspects. In other word it is all about personalisation of the protagonist.

My biggest hope for Inquisition is that the exploration will be a lot of fun, and not a chore. A chore would be something like the exploration of the planets in the first ME. Not the main missions but the random stuff you would find that really didn't amount to anything more than a lame codex entry. The occasional Thresher Maw encounter was pretty awesome, but you usually encountered them while travelling between the main quests.

I want to find forgotten ruins perhaps with interesting insights into Thedas' past... and loot! Lots of loot in areas that are of varying sizes. And a nice variety of foes my PC can dispatch in several different ways, including being able to con, persuade, or intimidate to avoid conflict altogether. And dragons! Variety is important to me.

When I heard news of dragon age inqusition, I reloaded my copy of Dragon Age II so I could have a nice save file to import. Can't even find my DA:O saves anymore and my DA2 saves were corrupt. Then I read about "The Keep" where you can create a custom save file anyway. Oh well.

Anyway, this is what I really hope for:

1. A party of five, not four (or even six - please!). I don't care if the fifth character is always a Mabari. I just want control of some fifth party member, like I had in Origins. I had "Dog" in DA Ii (thanks to the free Black Emporium) but he was a blue circle thing that appeared and disappeared, did strange things, and most importantly couldn't be customized or really controlled. Don't like that. Give me back a "fifth" under my control.

Oh yeah, and let me summon some stuff temporarily for fights with blue rings that isn't under my control, pets, elementals, whatever. How about a mage school that focuses on summoning?

2. I think I've become a broken refrain on this, but I would like to see more than 3 classes. I know priests/clerics are not playable in this gameworld. They're just useless zealots to hand out assignments and have their churches blown to smithereens. It would be interesting to see a fourth class that focuses on control or support roles along with your mages, rogues, and warriors. Instead of basically having three archetypes with three variations (specializations), how about more archetypes. Please. Like archers or bards or monks that are not simply a kit/specialization of rogues.

It seemed odd to me that Sebastian Vael had to be a rogue, when such a noble archer was really clearly a warrior, or maybe an archer "class" that was neither rogue nor warrior. It felt icky giving this noble, holy Chantry guy points in "Scoundrel" or "Sabotage".

3. I will say one thing about DA 2: loved the new crafting & enchanting system, it was really simple, made it easy to make stuff, got rid of the damn BS complexity (and bugs) of making runes and potions in DA:O.

All I would say is offer a few more options, next time, please, for grenades, potions, poisons, and runes. In particular, I would love to see more armor runes for SOMETHING other than elemental damage resistance (which, to be honest, you face pretty rarely). How abour armor runes for knockback resistance, stun resistance, general magic resistance, etc.

Also, humbly, I think it should be the case that poisons are either limited to rogues, or at least more effective in their hands.

I also think playing as a rogue should be more interesting, in that stealth should sometimes be a tool to change the nature and outcome of events and encounters, and not just something to use on the battlefield. Yes, that means sometimes rogues prevail by avoiding things. The game doesn't have to be ALL the time resolved through combat. Occasionally it can be sneak past the damn mage and take his scroll.

Here's something I'd love to see back from DA:O; rogues being able to pickpocket/steal, make traps, and track enemies.

P.S. I'm glad to see the ability to be a different race, and this time now including Qunari, will be a returning game feature. This is good.

It would be cool if one of the acquirable companions was something unusual with a whole bunch of unusual abilities (I am, of course, thinking of Shale the Golem).

That said, I liked the way in which each companion in DA II had their "flavor" unique specializations, too. Just found it odd Isabela didn't have the Duelist skill tree or Anders Spirit Healer.

Dalish mage origin.

Well you will get your wish sort of, they confirmed that there will be a Dalish mage background track for elves.

As for what I want, a good story that lasts 50+ hrs with 20+ hr extra content, good characters and companions since I really didn't like to many in DA2, a good villain and boss battle, finding out what happened to and possibly seeing various characters, killing Flemeth if we can, our choices from past games matter and the choices in the game will matter.

where did they sort of confirm the dalish origin..
????

What I meant by they'll sort of get their wish is that there aren't any orgin stories in the game, but there will be backgrounds that aren't choseable and are dependant on what race+combination we choose.

They are essentially just our past history like the ones in the mass effect series but unlike them we should be able to explore further in the game i believe they mentioned it in one of the podcasts.

As for where they confirmed it, playable race podcast at nerd appropriate about the 38 minutes mark

biowarebase.nerdappropriate.com/

****in yes, thanks man. Wasn't sure that it was confirmed or just BSN saying it was confirmed :)

I'd love one NPC love interest option. Sort of like Cortez or Traynor. Not a mass romance dump ala Fable but a few more choices would be fun.

I want the Inquisitor to be a stoic badass. The Warden, well my warden anyway, fit the bill quite well. Hawke was disappointing in this regard. As was Shepard.

I hope that I end up liking at least 70-80% of the companions... having do deal with people I find annoying, and not being able to fire them without any hope of replacement is irritating. I don't really expect multiple "back-up" characters to be around in case I tell someone to leave (assuming that's even possible), but can't we just hire some generic "fighters" to replace them or something? They don't even need voices, just... something other than an empty party slot when one of us annoys the other too much.

That and powerful blood magic.

I'd like a lengthy, immersive, fun game with considerable replayability based on our choices, starting in character creation with race and class.

With that, I'd like the DA Keep to work, and actually contain every choice over the last two games.

A more mature content (not ''only'' in sex scenes).

More/Better interaction with environments.

More/Better blood magic.

Even more freedom than in DAO.

& More... DRAGONS! :P

A solid plot, and well-written characters that are (mostly) likable and easy to identify with, that aren't just one note "This goal is my entire character" or "My sexuality is my character, and you're going to hear it a lot" stereotypes.

As an addition to the above, I'd also like the ability to cut anyone lose from the party at any time, so that I'm not stuck with the intolerable ones.

I hated this so much in ME3. Ashley (or Kaidan, I suppose) wave
it in your face two games in a row how they don't trust you and you're
expected to just let them waltz back onto the team? Hell no.

My BIGGEST hope? Biggest?

I don't know. Perhaps that...I don't know. That it's better than DA:O, I suppose.

Edit: Not to say I'm holding it to some extremely high standard. It already looks amazing.
