Thessia, it's a plot twist. The people of Thedas haven't evolved to asari yet. They're still primitive. In fact, as DA:I is happening, the Reapers are harvesting other people in different planets XD
Plus the name is close enough to Thedas so I just picked that one.

I think the Devs actually hadn't come up with a name for the Continent, so chose to call it what the forums had been calling it: THEDAS. Saved them the trouble of coming up with a name themselves, too.
