That depends if they even think there is a world. Could be like the Europeans that took forever to leave the Med as they thought it would lead to the end of the world.

Human will never want to learn with each other...human always comfortable with their own world...when there's someone bring something from other world, it will be simply rejected and shun upon...

It seems like...more and more everyday i feel like i don't belong here...i don't belong in you guys world...i am an alien...we are not from the same world...even we are on the same planet...

Ancient peoples are actually advance peoples much like us today and maybe more advanced than us...up to today we never know what pyramids are really about, but new findings suggest that pyramids are not tombs, but they are energy station for wireless electricity...that is the reason why the top of the pyramid was gold, it is a conductor

But what the pyramid is for if they are energy station? Maybe it was star ship landing bay....who know? What remain today is just remnants of the past...historians may have their opinions on things but they not actually know everything, history mostly based on assumptions.

It is a wonder how ancient peoples know about the stars if they are primitive peoples...we read what they writing about the gods, goddesses and on...maybe they are aliens, we thought it is all just literature or belief/religion, but how much we know that our language changed not the same like peoples in the past use? We today see science book and we can perceive it as science book...maybe 5000-10000 years later peoples read that science book and say it is "a myth and religion of ancient peoples", because the language is difference. Isn't it?

Let say the book show apes evolve to man, peoples 10000 years later say "this is the myth of peoples 10000 years ago, about an ape transformed into a man, this man is an ape god, ancient peoples believe this man is a deity that can disguise himself as an ape, we can relate this belief with similarity with Son Goku the super Saiyya who was a monkey boy before becoming a war god.....that is how primitive the ancient peoples was"...that's how peoples assume things in the past...

Maybe the ancient peoples are telling different things, but we perceive it differently because our language usage changed....

One of the less crazy things you've said recently Q. I don't necessarily agree with it but it's an intresting thought. And that last bit has linguistic relativity theory written all over it.

The fact that repeating ancient aliens theories about the Pyramids is one of the less insane things Qistina has said should worry you.

You should consult Mass Effect maps since you can see the moon of Klendagon in the sky.

That starts out full-on crazy, but it does make a sensible point at the end.

Perhaps the peoples of Thedas believe that the world is flat, and thus have no concept of 'planets'?

That makes no sense. How does thinking the world is flat preclude someone from having a concept of a planet?

Well, I suppose it's possible that the peoples of Thedas may believe that their own 'world' is flat, and there are separate planets up in the sky.

Doesn't seem all that likely to me.  If you conceptually understand what a planet is, the concept of a 'flat world' would make no sense - though that's coming from a more scientific perspective than perhaps the peoples of Thedas would have thought of.  I guess we didn't exactly have a perfect conceptual transition here on Earth.

My comment was more in the line of wondering where Thedas was along that particular thought/science scale though - not the technicalities of whether they believe in flat worlds, planets, or both simultaneously.

Presumably it's one of the inhabitable planets teeming in the cosmos.
If you saw the news today.
I'm voting for Tau Ceti as the parent star. Only a few light years away.
We presume Thedas is only one area of the whole planet, we presume it's roughly the size of earth or Venus, so there's much more of the planet to see.
Don't know if Gaider is interested in exploring the the rest of the planet.

Is this true? I have never looked at the reflection of Lake Calenhad, though I've never played the Mass Effect series, anyway.

Maybe the Maker is an ancient astronaut.

Erich von Danniken would be so proud.

Ha ha. Funny. Still, the OP brings up a decent question and I have wondered at the same thing myself. Will it ever be answered? I kind of doubt it but I do so love surprises.
