The soundtrack still makes me tear up, Leaving Earth, Future for the Krogan...etc. Just...fantastic.

I can't remember if I said it at the time, back when I had my blood up about the ending, but this game has some of the best and most moving music I've ever heard in a game. Ever.

Thanks, Sam, Cris, Chris, Sascha, Jack and Clint.

EDIT: More thanks

Coincidentally, I've had a nostalgia trip today as well, whilst listening to all three soundtracks. Almost feels like replaying the trilogy and every single track brings memories.

I would also include Jack Wall in thanks. And Christopher Lennertz (Future for the Krogan I think). Feast for the ears.

Lennertz was also responsible for The Lair of the Shadow Broker and Overlord DLC soundtracks.

Also, The View of Palaven and The Cerberus Plot were all his works, and these are my favorite soundtracks.

Thanks, Chritopher<3

This game and much about it will always invoke immense emotion in me. I can't stand the ending, but I'm more of a journey guy anyways and the ending is easy to ignore. Vigil, the Vigil piano cover that Liara plays, and the Mansell material all leave me an emotional wreck, and I have no problem with that.

Funny, I go back to the soundtrack almost everyday, but noticed that I'm listening to ME2 mostly, and usually stuff written by Jack Wall or Jimmy Hinson (Normandy Reborn ftw). Also to all available (uhm, extracted) DLC music (Citadel!) if I'm in the mood to listen while working on something - it's more generic, less moody and keeps me focused.

A bit OT, ME2 also introduced me to Comaduster. And as silly as it sounds, when I don't want to listen to the music, but I don't want complete silence either, I play Normandy's streaming sounds instead, silent humming, beeps and clicks that put my mind at ease.

Funny thing, I've been listening to the soundtracks at work a lot the last couple of weeks.

No doubt another full replay of the trilogy commences shortly... =))

I actually did a presentation on Sam Hulick for music class. In the exam (which was today), we listened to different songs and had to identify them. I was quite happy when I heard the Fleets Arrive play in our classroom!

My hope is that someday, game developers will come up with a way that we can listen to the music in a game and still be able to hear the ambient game sounds and dialog.

My first playthrough of any game anymore has to pretty much have the music disabled or down to about 20% volume, so that I can hear what dialog is being said.

While ME1 soundtrack is my favorite (overall), 'I Was Lost Without You' / 'Lost In You' (from Citadel DLC), 'I'm Proud of You' and 'Rannoch' were my favorite pieces of the entire trilogy.

Wake Up is the best track in all three games. Too bad it's also in the worst scene in all three games.

Same for me.

Man, I used to let that song loop for me for nearly an hour, while doing some stuff on PC.

I love ME1 soundtrack the most as well, so many of my favs can be found there but "I'm proud of you" or "I was lost without you" have a special place in my heart. Sam Hulick is full of win.

Gotta agree. This trilogy had one of the best and most moving music I've heard from a game. Only Halo's soundtrack comes close and even then its not that close.

The music I heard in this trilogy never failed to amaze me. My favourites are the Suicide Mission theme and the Shadow Broker battle theme.

I think Lennertz is my least-favorite composer. I just don't dig his vibe.

Jack Wall is excellent when it comes to the grand orchestral scores though, and Sam Hulick is fantastic at all the somber emotional or atmospheric music. One major flaw ME3 has IMO, was the lack of the "main cue" that plays in ME1's splash opening, when you first walk around the Normandy before Eden Prime and in the Mass Effect 2 opening, as well as in certain parts of the Suicide Mission music. It's this simple 4-note cue and it's very recognizable, but it played, I think, once, in Mass Effect 3 and I just felt like it was missing. I'm certain Jack Wall would've added it in if he'd been on that game as well.

ME's music will live with me forever, kind of like Howard Shore's LOTR score still has a major impact on me.

Something I love of Video Games, they may suck, they may crush your soul... but the music is always amazing.

First 2 games were fantastic

Can't really remeber anything from the third one except that piano music with the stupid kid.
It's a travesty that they didn't even include the original Mass Effect theme in ME3

They did here but it's way too short, it's too bad Jack Wall was not present in ME3,
Clint is good but sadly every time i hear his tracks all i can think off is Starbrat. I was far more impressed with other composers, hell Hullick's version of An End Once and For All is million times better than Clint's version because it doesn't contain that horrible drop at the end and gives you some hope for the way things are turning out.

There are some synth noises in pop/alternative music that will trigger nostalgia trips to ME1's soundtrack. I get Virmire vibes from a few MGMT songs for instance.
