Hey! After dying and dying and dying on this stupid, endless fight - I thought I'd like to come here and post my thanks to whichever masochistic game designer thought it'd be fun to make me fight... what - 50 enemies without a break? 100? I dunno, I never get to the end of them. It's real great pacing, since the largest group I've fought up till now was maybe 12.
I guess I just didn't expect to be kicked in the balls - you know, intentionally.
Also, the stupid fetch quests running back and forth before this whole thing kicks up? Also not fun, but at least it's not malicious.
Again - thank you very much for sticking your finger directly into my eyeball.

I'm playing on whatever one step up from normal is. I like a challenge. It's been fun so far - having to think about how I use the party members and pausing a lot. This isn't a challenge - this is a trick. An exercise in useless effort masquerading as a game. I've got more than 20 healing potions stocked up, and I end up burning through all of them before I'm finally overwhelmed. The worst part: the stupid "taunt/threat" system is almost completely broken. The fight inevitably boils down to having no way to keep the mobs off my ranged characters (no matter how much I use hammer the useless "threaten/taunt" abilities.) Basic crowd control doesn't work either - at least not at level 7. Just don't have enough of it to hold down 12+ zombies at once.

Yeah I was stuck at this part for a bit as well. Originally I tried using dog to lure up groups of enemies from the chantry back up to the group of knights but they kept respawning. After that failed I just lowered it to easy and went into town, was still challenging but atleast it was possible.
The reverent was much harder, for him I had my rogue assassinate the archers while sten/alistair tanked the melee/reverent and morrigan zapped dudes.

As you said, you like challange. Me too. I, for one, really enjoy these fights, as I have to think ahead, and they don't play out like a hack'n'slash.
We're trying to save the world here, it cannot be that easy, can it?
As you said, you like the challange. I still see it as a challange, after all, you shall deploy tactics to beat a larger pack of enemies, not just swing your sword through them (in that case would I say it's a trick)
And -just for the record- I also enjoyed the prepearing quests.
My advice is to have a healer or a great -I mean really great- deal of potions. That's a must have above easy I think. You have about 20, that should do the trick. At least for the healing. And have Morrigan with you, I was there at lvl9, she weren't in my initial team, and the fight was a pain in the butt. With here, I could bring the apocalypse down from the skies. Don't underestimate her support abilities either

I ended up doing it without lowering the difficulty - but I think the fight is bugged. I helped with the militia until I was over-run, ran back to the knights, and just killed one-at-a-time zombies streaming down the back pass (very slow rate, very easy to kill and heal during the lapse.) After they stopped coming, I walked back down and simply had to kill two groups of six. End fight/Yay?
In the end, I killed far fewer zombies than in my previous (failed) attempts. Wasn't much satisfaction to it - I think it's bugged (that, or I exploited one to win.)
