Ring Mail. I know the name arises from a misunderstanding, but I like the look of it.

There is a robe available which is a padded cloth jacket with metal rings woven into it. I've been using it as ring mail, but it is limited because it is the only one of its kind.

I was hoping that some clothing artists would be interested in make chest parts which consist of a cloth vest and metal rings sewn into the surface. I would also like a leather vest with metal rings sewn into it.

I am posting some example images that you do not have to faithfully copy. I am merely posting them as rough illustrations so have an idea of what I am roughly talking about. (In D&D I suppose this is studded leather, but we don't have much if any armor that looks like this that I am aware of). And to be clear, I am only looking for chest parts for this. If you do more that would be great, but not necessary.

I can certainly do you a version involving hitting a PLT or two with a brick. I should be able to do it quickly enough not to prevent the completion of these wretched Doctor Who Modules...
On the other hand, if you want something with actually modelled rings and studs applied to a chest model (likely a tad high-poly anyway) it's out of my league time-wise if nothing else at the moment...
Should be feasible to get it to look alright just by hitting textures with bricks though.

Er... would just one texture be enough, given time constraints at present, done in two versions - one using cloth channels, the other using leather?

Sounds good to me, PHoD.

Actually, I'm now thinking cloth would look, well, more clothy like... and leather would be more, well, leathery... I'm heading back over to Weirdo HQ now and, when I've grappled my way past a few thousand Aliens, I'll see what happens when I hit an unsuspecting PLT with a brick... Probably it'll try to hit me back.

Ring Mail is done...

My first texture looked REALLY good. As a texture. Unfortunately it was too fiddly and looked rubbish on the model. So I hit it with a shockingly proportioned brick and simplified it a bit, made the rings bigger so they actually look like rings in-game.

Have now destroyed my eyesight sticking in metal channel, pixel by pixel, on PLT rings by the thousand...

The result doesn't look too bad in game despite being a bit rubbish. I did a chest part for you in leather and one in cloth, plus a flappy nonsense item belt part for both so you can simulate longer garments, plus I also did bicep and forearm parts for both so you can add the wonder of the miracle of sleeves!

I also did a screenshot to demonstrate this, but as for whatever Spleen-shaped reason I suddenly cannot edit any posts I make on this site, you, or someone else, will have to append it here for discussion... It's in my album thing anyway.

Hope this is more or less what you wanted.

Excuse the Demonic female - they're compulsory with me...

Hope these suit your purposes - it's nice to be able to do something to go some little way to paying you back for the Dalek model and your outrageous generosity regarding the PHoD Dead Computer Incident.

My presence has, actually, been officially prohibited by the Geneva Convention, but maybe digitally, at a distance, I'm survivable...

If nothing else, this proves I can make an outfit for a woman that doesn't look like it emerged from an Ann Summers catalogue.

You're welcome to share it, obviously, or whatever else you feel predisposed to do with it. That's more or less what the Community is for, after all.

Errgh! Forgot about those, sorry...

My Inventory icons for clothing are usually completely rubbish, mind you. Weapon icons I can do, clothing icons always seem to come out... I shan't use that word in public.
