In hindsight I'm actually kinda disappointed. Kick next time plz.

Wasn't my party/lobby, I was invited by some low ranked players that I rarely play with. Normally, my lobbies are much more intimidating than what you saw. We don't hesitate in kicking low ranked players, believe me.

18 months later and people still think n7 and or challenge points are skill related. n7 is correlated to epeen nothing more. Its a co op game no such thing as skill in co op everyone gets the same credits and exp in the end.

You havent been around to know the inside thing about this thread... :)

I Still Say Bioware should have removed this useless feature the moment the first reports of people being kicked from game lobbies because their N7 wasn't high enough started to crop up.

People have good reason to boot players with low N7 from their lobbies. This is exactly what I do. I once ran into a new player with an N7 of 120 using an acolyte with a power amp on the original human adept, this player clearly belonged in silver or bronze so this player was promptly removed from the lobby.

I usually play in lobbies where the combined N7 is at least 120,000. We're willing to take players with lower N7 ranks on a few occasions and we may let them stay, but most of the time we just kick them from our lobbies swiftly. New players or those with really low ranks really shouldn't be playing on platinum.

I will say that the anti-promoters just sit on a lvl 20 kit, which is nothing to brag about. I love outscoring someone with a lvl 1 kit, while they run a lvl 20 kit.

Having said that, does N7 level = skill? I would say no. I does tend to indicate some competence.

Yes, it takes a certain personality type to be able to spam an hour of recruit packs every week.

Anyone that dedicated has to be good.

Actually, it's more like 35 minutes of buying recruit packs per session of gaming, which roughly amounts to 4 hours per week for me personally. So...yeh.

Pretty much: YES.

I've been trying to educate these people about the ranking system in this game for several months, but they still don't understand how it works. Being at the top of the leaderboards draws some remarkable reactions from most people on here. So as soon as they realised you had an N7 close to 40,000 and over 100,000 challenge points they were overcome by hostility.

Well, I have 38700 N7 and more than 100k challenge points but I don't think I have to do epic games to get the money, I don't feel the need of overwhelm everyone else in the lobby just because I've played more than a lot of people. I play because it's funny and I don't give a sh.. if I'm first or fourth player. I don't mind playing as a volus or even a juggernaut in the game, the only important thing in this game is beating waves and survive the last wave so you get extract.

People think that I have to kill everything to demonstrate my N7 rank...that's stupid. Having a high N7 doesn't mean thata player is better than you but at least is not a bad player, having a low rank is the same than before but the likelihood of being a noob are greatly bigger. You must consider the weapons, the kits, the challenge points...that way you can identify about 60-70% of the players.

What Camels n Guns and Icebaker? If you say so chief.

Although Playing in Camel's lobby was pretty intimidating. Watching phantoms skidding along like they're on ice skates then teleporting behind you really keeps you on your toes!

Who was bragging about using a lvl 20 kit ? The only bragging here is "I love outscoring someone with a Lvl 1 kit"

What happens when you let a low-N7 player stay and he outscores you so badly that your tiny e-peens retract back into your body? Do you kick him too?

That never happens. We don't mix with low N7s unless we're pugging separately. Even if we did get outscored, the decision to kick would never be based on that. It is based on low skill (low N7) alone. I would love to regularly play with someone who could outscore me.

Just saying, there's a lot of N7 120 players who could wipe the floor with you. Perhaps that's the reason why you don't allow them in your lobbies.

Well, all the new players I have come across are generally very bad at the game (as to be expected). I haven't encountered any newbie players who were able to 'wipe the floor with [me]'. I have fun carrying them on gold when playing on my own, but on platinum, all they get is a kick and a 'GTFO'. Maybe things are different on PC.

Sorry about that *hides in a dark corner for all eternity* Image IPB

My N7 doesn't dictate some so-called player skill; rather, it dictates how many drinks I can take (as though that's the true measure of humanity Image IPB)

To add onto that, the guy just contradicted himself, he would love to play with someone who outscores him yet kicks based on their low n7 alone(while still being outscored by a low n7). He'd rather stay in a tight circle of high n7 friends than get outscored by a bunch of low n7's. Understandable since he would feel better if he did get outscored by his friends.

Also he fails to realize that all low n7's aren't new players, some played when the game first came out. Spamming recruit packs is what he understands to be skill while low n7's passing him would be considered unheard of due to his pack opening skills.

I feel sorry for you xbox players out there that has to deal with this guy lol. Just know he is just making himself look bad, not the console.

Technically all it means if that they play a lot, because they level up a lot.
Playing a lot gives you experience, and therefore potentially skill, but keep both these points in mind:

1) People who level up indefinitely on bronze do not have the experience (and thus skill) to handle gold/plat, regardless of their N7, until they start going up difficulty. (High N7 =/= high skill)
2) Some people don't want to promote because they want to keep high-leveled, capable builds available for gold/plat matches if they play those exclusively (low N7 =/= low skill)

3) Some people chase the N7 system due to its scorecard nature without any regard to how they play or whether they are pulling their weight in a match (high N7 =/= high skill)
4) ...and some people opt out of what is ultimately an ePeen system, promoting only if they need to respec a cluster of characters from the save class. (low N7 =/= low skill)
