I'll tell you the same thing I told a guy today - I let my N7 and scores do the talking. This guy today had the nerve to challenge me after he saw my 54000 N7 rank in the lobby. I outsocred him 260k to 120k. When you're actually playing the game, that's all you have - your rank and your score. However, when it comes to an internet forum, you will encounter a lot of player haters who be trying to f*** with your sh**. People can talk smack all they like. They can believe whatever they want. Just as long as everyone knows my rank and my standing on the global leaderboard, that's all that matters to me to be honest.

You are a slave to your epeen and it is hilarious.

How long has he been around on BSN? Did BSN ever care about the N7 leaderboards?

I usually play in lobbies where the combined N7 is at least 120,000. We're willing to take players with lower N7 ranks on a few occasions and we may let them stay, but most of the time we just kick them from our lobbies swiftly. New players or those with really low ranks really shouldn't be playing on platinum.

What happens when you let a low-N7 player stay and he outscores you so badly that your tiny e-peens retract back into your body? Do you kick him too?

That never happens. We don't mix with low N7s unless we're pugging separately. Even if we did get outscored, the decision to kick would never be based on that. It is based on low skill (low N7) alone. I would love to regularly play with someone who could outscore me.

I have yet to see a low N& get into that game and stay...lol

I'm sort of a snob, but in a different way. I'm more quick to judge someone based on their achievements in the game. I've come across people with high N7 rank and challenge points but they haven't even gotten the original 1000 gamerscore or platinum trophy. That's just wrong IMO.

But to answer the original question, of course not. It's like prestiging in a Call of Duty, it has no relevance to one's skill.

My Mass Effect 3 gamerscore is 585 and my N7 rank is 54000. Some people only play the multiplayer and don't really have much interest in the single player portion. Also, what's the platinum trophy?

The trophy given to PS3 players once they've obtained all other trophies in the core reatail game.

I get that some people have little to no interest in the single player experience but when it's a game like this which is heavily story driven I'm allowed to be bugged by the fact that said players go straight to multiplayer. it just reminds me of all those dudebros from CoD community.

Is a "dudebro" someone who skips single player in favor of multiplayer?

I feel like I have to specifically point out that following is my opinion.

No. I reserve the term "dudebro" for those in the CoD community with that mindset. But we have here players with a similar attutude of "screw singleplayer look at my my mega high N7 rank and unfathomable challenge points, im such hot ****", even though no one really cares. They have a douchey attitude and think themselves better than others even though N7 rank doesn't mean diddly-squat.

It doesn't mean anything to you because you're a casual player. And that's totally fine, I don't hold it against you. I mean, by extension, you can also go on to say "Mass Effect is meaningless, it means nothing, it's just a pointless video game, who cares about games anyway? Games are meaningless, I don't understand why people waste their time playing games." Do you see my point here? People have different views. A non gamer finds games meaningless. And casual players find N7 rank meaningless, becasue they don't have much experience with the game and don't understand how the ranking system works.

Bump, because I want to read something stupid about the N7 rank-skill relation when I wake up. Don't disappoint me, guys!

Don't forget, N7 is everything.

I don't think it was at first. Now?

Promoting allowed me to use different builds when I first started. I then promoted for the challenge. Did that make me better? Sure. Does N7=skill? No

You are discussing two completely different arguements with that post. Reviewing your posts in this thread alone, I can confirm a lost cuase when I see one. No point in arguing with as you clearly won't change your mind. You keep boasting your 50k plus N7 rank, which would be fine if you had any sort of humility, but you are just an elitist douche.

You take the game so seriously, to a laughable extent. I bet you get an erection everytime you promote. You actually demand respect because you are the second best player in the world? :o That is legitamately one of the funniest things i've read here.

I got nothing else to say to you or your circlejerking friends. Too scared you guys might beat me up . LOL.

^ 4th best in the world in N7 rank when you include PC, challenge rank is crap. and 4th best is nothing to brag about. He just wishes he is second best.

Elite players worry about things that actually shows skill, which an example is kill death ratio in competitive games. Kill death ratio is the number of players you kill before you die (and the people you kill are actual players). The only thing you can remotely show off in this co-op game is how high a score you get in a match against AI by screenshotting it and posting it on the forums.

N7 promoting is like prestiging in COD, anyone can do it, it doesn't show any skill. No elite in COD I know of even looks at prestige rank when they think of skill, they look at what actually matters which is the kill death ratio.

If XFG thinks he is elite because he worries about his N7 rank more than everyone else, i feel sorry for him. Even my elite friends on COD is laughing at him. Until he plays an actual competitive game facing against actual players, he has no idea what elite is.

The post to which I replied mentioned 1000 Achievement score

I can only get 395 of that in multiplayer.
