Well, maybe not you personally.  But all those people you meet on PUGs nowadays.

If your top weapon is a Predator III, YOU SHOULD NOT BE PLAYING GOLD!

At least some of them have the decency to play a Juggernaut so you immediately know who and what they are.

Please, guys, if you want to learn to play gold, do it with your friends.  Don't drag others into your pit of misery and despair.

I think most of them do not even realize what damage they already have done to the community.  The willingness to resurrect fallen teammates is at an all time low.  And for good reason, you have people on gold who don't even attempt to come to the hack circle.  I used to think all those "I'm only playing private games with my friends" people were arrogant elitists, but it turns out they were right all along.

Sigh.

I joined a game with a drell vanguard and two juggernauts the other day.  The drell was down all the time and the juggernauts expected me to do the objectives.  And then it turned out the drell was the host and when he lost interest in watching others play, he threw all of us under the bus and aborted the match.

BTW: I don't think I have never seen "restarting wave" actually restart the wave.  Does that work on the consoles?  Because it sure as hell does not work on the PC.

I play gold with a level 3 predator and level 1 equipment. Also, L2carry.

I've been pugging on gold with my 2nd account and a very weak manifest tho it's slowy improving. It can be a struggle but I'm experienced enough now to not be too much of a burden even clutch a wave or two if need. I jug only if I know it's a weak team or I'm on plat'. My best weapons still only rare level 2-3's or my level one ultra rare collector smg or valiant lol.

I randomness of gold level pugs - I find more appealing than frustrating - altho I do understand what you mean.

There's good pugs and bad pugs, just like it always has been.

Those people you are addressing might as well say "You should probably not be playing pugs".

It just seems to me that if you're not prepared for a  bad game or can't spot a bad game coming while in the lobby with these pugs, that YOU shouldn't be playing gold. Also:

Oh, another "Complain about PuGs thread". Because we really needed another one of those. Thanks, OP.

You could have got on mic and reminded them to help out with the objectives and gave the newbies some pointers. There's a lot of stuff that can really only be learned through another player or the forum, share that knowledge and help them become a better player, faster. Leave if the lobby looks like it won't be a satisfactory match, otherwise be willing to carry.

The problem is only skill and experience, not really the manifest. Some builds don't need weapons to solo Gold, so PUGging is definitely a non-issue (e.g, human adept, nova guard, bat/Kroguard & krolord against certain factions, Juggies etc). Some of us also go round with second/third profiles for fun - meaning that 'noob' in the lobby may be anything but. It's impossible to know before the game is in motion.

Probably there should have been a minimum criteria to unlock the harder difficulties, such as certain number of survival medals and/or score per game ... but sadly there isn't. I know now people like to rant on BSN about players that shouldn't be on Gold or Plat or don't know how to play, but as has been said numerous times, new players aren't likely to be reading/researching on BSN. ;)

It used to be that gold was bad because of glitchers and farmers. Then Bioware created platinum to isolate those people so the rest could play gold in peace. And I say this as someone who likes to farm platinum for credits every now and then. The glitchers appear to have moved on to other games now.

What I'm saying is not that I can't spot those lobbies. I'm saying that this is detrimental to everybody's fun. If you play leech on difficulty ratings you are not ready for, you are killing the fun for everybody. That is antisocial behavior. Why are people doing it?

"l2carry" is a coping mechanism. I don't know about you, but I'm playing games not to cope with problems, but to not have problems in the first place. Indeed to cope my real life stress or problems, you could say. Instead of this defeatist attitude some of you are displaying, we should find out why this is so and find a way to turn back the dial.

Suggestions?

Again what is wrong with the Predator? You can get a reasonable score with it. Quit groping your e-peen/e-boob (which ever the case may be) and get over it.

Complaining about pugs is a coping mechanism for the stress incurred by playing a video game without confidence. I don't like this defeatist attitude.

BioWare did not create platinum to isolate glitchers and farmers.

This is not detrimental to "everybody's fun" because you do not speak for everybody. You speak for yourself. And what you're saying is that it's detrimental to your fun. There is nothing "antisocial" about leeching. You're throwing an awful lot of words around that you do not seem to understand.

This is not another "problem" to cope with, it is a gamble you take when you play games online with other people.

Suggestion: Stop blaming your scrubbiness on others.

I think I just witnessed the solution. I joined an in-progress gold game (which sadly seems to be the norm these days) and a lone Krogan Vanguard murdertrained everything by himself. Occasionally he stopped to revive innocent bystanders but other than that it was basically a gold solo with three decoys.

The krogan had 120k points at the end, me and somebody else around 50k and the fourth guy had 25 or so.
