I think I just witnessed the solution. I joined an in-progress gold game (which sadly seems to be the norm these days) and a lone Krogan Vanguard murdertrained everything by himself. Occasionally he stopped to revive innocent bystanders but other than that it was basically a gold solo with three decoys.

The krogan had 120k points at the end, me and somebody else around 50k and the fourth guy had 25 or so.

The solution to playing with bad people is to play with good people.

It used to be that gold was bad because of glitchers and farmers. Then Bioware created platinum to isolate those people so the rest could play gold in peace.

When I land in a lobby full of people without any consumables equipped I equip in the same way. I still play as well as I can but I don't feel any bitterness if the match crashes and burns.

Yeah it works on console. I was hosting a gold/geth/Reactor match this morning when I lost my connection on wave 6. Got a game invite from one of the other players in a moment. Joined and got back in same game on wave 7. We got to wave 10 before fail. But I kept all my score from before leaving. Also during host migration on console you come back with full consumables. You can also rejoin without and invite if the game hasn't already put someone in your place.

Sorry you're frustrated, but I haven't really had this problem. Almost all of the pugs I play with are pretty good or at least willing to try. I do quit a lobby if the loadouts look sketchy. And I will get on mic and request everyone get in the hack if necessary. (When they hear my mom voice telling them to "please get in the hack circle or I'm getting out" they usually come running.)

If you're frustrated, add people to your FL so you can have at least one buddy to help you.

And host migration almost always works for me on PC. The best part is getting to keep my consumables.

There is no solution to bad pugs other than get better yourself and carry them.  We cannot stop them playing Gold or above so you either get a good FL and play with them or PUG it and play a more challenging game.  I do both and enjoy both.

After looking at this thread, thought I would give the Predator a spin.

I think Predator is Gold viable  ......

Edit:  I know the time is bad.  I had Banshees on my tail most of the time and also needed to hit the ammo boxes quite often.  For a scrub, I think it is a decent result.

On a serious note, I actually feel pugs are now in their best or at least much much better than they used to be. The number of people I encounter who are in deep need of carrying is surprisingly low.

Finding lobbies would be easier then. Now I have to ninja-switch from bronze to platinum and most of them leave anyway .
