You should probably not be playing gold

I honestly feel that there are a handful of players that go into gold and platinum game hoping for best case scenario to be carried through and get credits. If you know you cannot help the team on that level you should not be playin it, it is not fair to the people having to carry you.

That being said banners, n7 and load out have nothing to do with it. I've seen some low n7s with bad weapons help the team tremendously and I've seen plenty of botb players who drag down the whole team.

I like carrying scrubs in Gold... I enjoy an audience of spectator losers.

Preaching to the choir dude.

There's nothing you can really do. You either learn to spot noobs/leeches in the lobby and leave, or you roll your eyes and just carry them. Or just stop PUGging.

Experience has shown me that verbally pointing out they're going to get rectally violated on Gold and should really be in Bronze/Silver will have no effect, except maybe to get yourself a kick vote. These people are determined to be stupid.

You're kidding, right?

Just look at what their loadout is before the game starts to avoid that problem. Just leave if you see they clearly aren't ready for gold.

In-game there's nothing you can really do except either leave or suck it up and carry them. I rarely have that problem, but when I do its usually on wave 8 or something so i just carry from that point.

If you don't wanna carry at least some of the time you won't be completing many games.

Would have been funnier if Krieg's face was somehow in this picture. Anyway, op, with pugs nowadays, you need to be prepared for bad lobbies period. Grab a kit you can carry with and you should be fine.

You should learn to carry and not whine.

Yes, yes, don´t play gold! Play platinum!!!
On a serious note, I actually feel pugs are now in their best or at least much much better than they used to be. The number of people I encounter who are in deep need of carrying is surprisingly low.

It seems like right now there are three types of gold puggers (on PC):
1. Moderately experienced players all the way up to BSNers, who will typically be fine.
2. Crutch kit users (jug, flamer, AIU, ghost), who may not be good but will usually not be completely hopeless (except jugs, they can go either way).
3. People who started the game yesterday.

It seems that people who are relatively experienced but really shouldn't be playing gold because they're not ready for it just don't exist anymore. Or, more likely, they've all migrated to the crutch user category.

Eh. My first gold game on PS3 account, I didn't even have my commons maxed. Still don't even have all of the common weapon mods. If they're using the HuDept and know how to handle it right, anyone can do alright enough on Gold with a n00b manifest.

For some reason I'm getting players with better gear and higher N7 / challenge ratings on silver than on gold at the moment. Unfortunately, the games are not much fun on silver and you only get half the credits.

I'm starting to realize the only reason I'm still playing is because I would like to max my manifest.

Then you should stop playing. Because that's a terrible reason to play.

And it sounded very much like a belief that might be expressed here.

I think a lot of players like Silver more than Gold. You're on PC; can't you just cheat your way to a maxed manifest?

If you're complaining about the players in gold lobbies, do something positive about it. The players I came up with taught me to play when I wasn't gold ready. Clearly there are a lot of players still learning the ropes in pugs, perhaps they could use someone to point them in the right direction.

Go away, pug!! If I help people, how the fuck am I going to dominate the scoreboard?!

You don't, but then you can make threads about their crutch kits and weapon combos.

When you help them and still outscore them, it makes it all the more impressive.

On a serious note, I realize this only works with some players and others will tune you out. It is to be expected, but crying about randoms never solved a damn thing.

Honestly, I pug platinum a lot and I hardly have problems (then again, I tend to carry matches and clutches waves so I guess you may be right). I see people on platinum who shouldn't be playing silver let alone gold. I could play with my friends though my most experienced friend can't duo silver with me without dying (I really don't get why it works out like that). At least when you carry and clutch it prepares you for many of the pugs you will run into on plat. Well, that has been my experience.

Each PUG you educate is a small victory against the RNG. I used to do this as well, but I've had…unpleasant reactions.
