If you're complaining about the players in gold lobbies, do something positive about it. The players I came up with taught me to play when I wasn't gold ready. Clearly there are a lot of players still learning the ropes in pugs, perhaps they could use someone to point them in the right direction.

Go away, pug!! If I help people, how the fuck am I going to dominate the scoreboard?!

When you help them and still outscore them, it makes it all the more impressive.

On a serious note, I realize this only works with some players and others will tune you out. It is to be expected, but crying about randoms never solved a damn thing.

Each PUG you educate is a small victory against the RNG. I used to do this as well, but I've had…unpleasant reactions.

I've only done it once or twice but I'd rather try that than complain. Playing gold for a lot of players is a mental thing, myself included. Once you jump in and get accustomed to the speed, wave budgets, etc, it's fun. Having someone to ease you in helps you have confidence after some time once you go it alone.

I'd like to take this time to thank Oni Dark Clown for teaching me how to play gold. You're a real pal.

Agreed. I actually have made a few friends in PUGs like that back when I played the game quite a bit. I found out that, from trying to teach the ropes to newer players, I've improved myself as well. Besides, it's a cool feeling when the people you tried to help get as good as you, and even better (not that's a feat but still) and enjoy the game.

I disagree.

That was a joke.

Then, well played, good sir!

My sympathies OP. This sort of thing happens way too often in gold (or worse, platinum).

Just be sure to check everyone's loadout in the lobby before the game starts. If there isn't at least 1 loadout that isn't a juggernaut that doesn't suck, you should probably go find another lobby.

As for the l2carry posters: some people (like myself) actually don't enjoy soloing. When the pug team sucks, not everyone thinks "oh awesome this is the perfect opportunity to show everyone how great I am at shooting bots without any support." More like "this is boring as **** and a waste of my time."

"l2carry" is a coping mechanism. I don't know about you, but I'm playing games not to cope with problems, but to not have problems in the first place. Indeed to cope my real life stress or problems, you could say. Instead of this defeatist attitude some of you are displaying, we should find out why this is so and find a way to turn back the dial.

Suggestions?

Lrn2carry

or kick them

or find another lobby

don't whine on BSN about it, as the people you are whining about are not here to hear it...

What's the difference? You're running around killing things all the same anyway. Funny how you assume that people who don't mind carrying noobs are scorewh*res who like to show off.

I can vouch for your willingness carry noobs without being a scorehoar.

And I can vouch for you not being one of them. And thanks .

If only "qualified" players were allowed to play gold their would be difficulty finding a game.
Really only need 2 good players to play gold comfortably .
If the other 2 are out of their depth who cares as long as they try .

Nah, if your top gun is Predator 3, DO PLAY GOLD.

I'll feel better about myself carrying you and scoring over 200k in the process.

That is a s*********** statement to make about a mulitplayer game.

I've had beer so I don't care if yer trollin' or being ironic or whatever.

So hard to tell around here, with most everyone being too clever by half.

If you want to find out why it's happening, it's very simple. Gold games pay 2.5x that of Silver games.

Gold pays so much more than Silver for your time and effort that you would be better served failing at Wave 7 Gold than completing an entire Silver game.

BTW: I don't think I have never seen "restarting wave" actually restart the wave.  Does that work on the consoles?  Because it sure as hell does not work on the PC.

Fnord, you're not hitting the button to "restart wave," are you? It's a poorly designed dialog box, but what you're supposed to do if you want to join the restarted wave is... nothing. Just wait until it restarts. Hitting the button that looks like it should restart the wave cancels you out of the match.

For what it's worth I agree with you about a lot of the folks who show up in Gold. When I played Silver a lot I felt the same way, but if anything it's worse on Gold. People come over from Call of Honor 2:  Battlefield Ops or whatever and think that their experience over there means that they can bypass content in this game. But it's not just about the ability to put the crosshairs on an enemy and pull the trigger. You have to know the maps, the way enemies spawn and behave, etc. I commonly see people in PUGs who are so inexperienced that I cannot be sure they've seen the next map even once. That's what Bronze is for, gee whiz.

And like with an MMO's end-game content, there is a gear requirement! I wish people would understand that. I see someone with a Tempest and no armor piercing mod or ammo and it's almost enough to make me want to plug in my mic and explain just a little bit about the ME3 MP birds and bees. But leaving the queue is easier and is seen as less arrogant, so there y'go.

I've been playing way too much easy-mode silver (for challenges with unfamiliar kits/bad weapons); I need to get more into the gold habit but the chance of a bad team is kinda scary.

I run a few Silver missions when I promote and get a few levels back.  Silver without consumables isn't really much worse than Gold with proper equipment.

True and I did the same.  Played with you a few times Maurader Sackboy.  Thanks for the pickups.
