Well, apparently my copy is already in a box, waiting for me. In a warehouse somewhere:

Not that I was trying to cancel it. Just trying to see if I could change the shipping option to "release date!11!" XD

Yep, me too. At this point the only thing that would ensure I went out and bought it on release day is a spoiler that said Bioware told barefaced lies and Liara and Wrex are team mates, and Subject Zero dies 10 seconds after you meet her. Needless to say I wouldn't bet anything I cared about on that happening. Oh well!

It is highly unlikely Celrath has it. If he did he would've said where he ordered it from. Eastore isn't breaking it's own street date and neither is Amazon. Highly unlikely any of the usual European online stores would, particularly since they get the game later. Lies imo.

Ok.

We cannot prevent retailers from releasing the game before the street date. Like most of you, I do not like it when some store sells things before they should. These people who get the game early will encounter problems (such as achievements not working, no tech support, etc) until the actual launch date. Selling the game early is beyond my control. Sorry.

I also do not like when people spoil the game for me. This I CAN do something about. ANYONE found to post spoilers about the game here on these forums will be BANNED. We will not let people discuss the game until it is supposed to be released. I will be posting an announcement at the top of the page. If anyone sees anyone posting story or spoiler details here, please contact me or anotehr staff/mod and we will handle it.

Well out of curiosity after reading this thread I called a store I know of that often breaks street date (usually by a day or two). They said they expect to have ME2 possibly on Friday, definitely by Monday. I already have a preorder at a Gamestop, but if it's there on Friday it will be really hard to resist and just eat the $5 I put down on it. If they don't have it till Monday I'll wait and pick up my preorder so I don't have to start it without installing the Launch DLC.

Is that from Gamestop?  They always seem to prepare to package my stuff super early.

I pre-ordered Left 4 Dead 2 from them on the tuesday before it came out, and on Wednesday I found out Amazon was about 10 cheaper with shipping and such all combined, plus I would get a 10 dollar pre-order discount from Amazon for a future purchase.  I was like screw that stupid baseball bat Gamestop get's me I want the 20 dollars.

Wouldn't let me do it, it was 6 days till the game was supposed to come to me but they already claimed it was packaged and ready and no one to cancel it, despite I sitll got the game the day I was always supposed to get it, i never got it faster.

Keep in mind, playing a version purchased today will cause you to encounter problems.

For example teh achievements are not available on Xbox Live yet. Also DLC and the Cerberus network are not yet active. Also, should anyone encounter any sort of technical issue, there is no support active yet for assistance.

I cannot prevent anyone from legally purchasing a copy from a retailer if it is available in stores, BUT the game will unlock on Jan 26. I urge people to wait so they do not encounter problems playing.

I've been waiting for about 2 months since I pre-orderd, I think I can wait 6 days for the game so I can have it all.

This is why I am not touching my copy. I think I will be getting it in a day or two but the whole Cerberus network thing will stop me from playing it early.

From what i know of Microsoft. Anyone caught playing games early is banned from Xbox Live since they assume it is a pirate version.

Reminds me of that Simpsons eppisode where they make fun of the harry potter sereis with some made up book that lisa speed reads to them all and they act like that's there book of the year to read.

I'll play the game again after Jan 26 for achievements and such

Would you belive them even if someone claimed to have the game and said one way or another?  I guess unless you see them get banned is the true test if they spoiled something <_<

On the plus side, Kmart is still accepting CE pre orders I just checked the website. Either way even If I was able to get a early copy, it wouldnt do much good, esp if I wanted to play it on my main xbox profile for achievements.

I don't think so - it's pretty unreasonable for MS to punish folks who are ignorant of a game's street date. They have other ways to determine if a game is pirated or not.
