Some of those things look like they were purchased at a Final Fantasy yard sale.

Agreed. They're more like short swords than daggers.SergeantSnookie wrote...
I think daggers are the biggest offenders when it comes to needing to be shrunk down.

I think this should be extended to swords as well. Especially the two-handers.

Sure and let's have mages get burned hands from their fire spells..Plaintiff wrote...
I think they should make the two-handed weapons much, much bigger. Characters who equip them will be bent double under the weight and forced to move extremely slowly. Occasionally they will lose their balance and fall backwards, at which point players will be forced to wiggle the joystick back and forth in order to have the character rock back onto their feet like a turtle.

Personally, seeing characters in DA2 swing greatswords around like they were made of foam somehow didn't do it for me.

Most of the greatswords are actually pretty reasonable, and not too far from real life claymores.

Good gameplay and storytelling have no age limit.

Having said that, I do see a problem with how in-game characters handle them. It's like they're so weightless. One good example would be when you ask Mikhael Dryden to make the two-handed Starfang for you. During the cutscene of him making the Starfang and giving it to you, it seems as though he's not affected by the sword's weight at all. Same goes for many other scenes or parts in the game, it just seems unnatural.
So if anything needs to be done, it is the mechanics of how the two-handed weapons are handled in the game. Somebody mentioned Dark Souls, which is a great example of how the handling of weapons change depending on how large they are.

You ever hear of puppeteer? It's a game on the ps3, came out this year. I suggest checking it out, it's good.

Absolutely nothing. DA however is supposed to be a mature game.
