We can't do that. The player can't be expected to have good eyesight or to remember what weapons his party is packing!

If it bothers you that much that weapons/armor/combat aren't realistic enough for you then just play a mage.<_<Lotion Soronnar wrote...

I think they should make the two-handed weapons much, much bigger. Characters who equip them will be bent double under the weight and forced to move extremely slowly. Occasionally they will lose their balance and fall backwards, at which point players will be forced to wiggle the joystick back and forth in order to have the character rock back onto their feet like a turtle.
and no fingers from frostbite from useing cold spells, and scard skin from using acid spells. sounds fun and realistic

What's wrong with 'kiddie' games?
Absolutely nothing. DA however is supposed to be a mature game.
You can Google for a specific definition, but short, adult theme and realism is included. And no, magic fits in the realism since it is included in the laws of fysics of Thedas.

I think this should be extended to swords as well. Especially the two-handers.
Some of those things look like they were purchased at a Final Fantasy yard sale.

I remember that happened when the Warden meets Anders. But no such scene for warriors...must be a conspiracy.Arcane Warrior Mage Hawke wrote...

But I'd rather they be a bit more realistic in the DA verse. At least size-wise.

Funny how my character in DA:O could barely lift or swing his claymore.

Lotion is paraphrasing the actual justification BioWare gave for the oversized weapons in DAO. Because of the overhead camera, they said, weapons needed to be bigger so the players could tell what they were even from a distance.Arcane Warrior Mage Hawke wrote...

DA2, of course, took away the overhead camera, thus eliminating that justification.

I think the reason the weapons are so long is because the animations for hammers, mauls and battleaxes are the same, and so they have to have roughly the same dimensions- the haft of the mauls and axes have to be roughly the same length as the blade of the greatsword.
Yeah, you're more than likely right. Part of why I want the axes and hammers to have different animations.

I agree that a lot of the issue for me is how easily those massive things are waved about. Seeing lanky little Fenris throw Hayder's Razor around like it's a rhythmic gymnastics ribbon made of candy floss is a little bit jarring.
Going by the footage I've seen so far, DA2's much-too-fast two-handed animations have been corrected. Two-handers have some heft to them again.
