She's a great voice actress. Her ability to deliver tone and inflection for female sheperd was vastly superior to Mark Meer.

Listen to any emotional or dramatic line delivered in ME1 and Hale's delivery carries actual emotion compared to Meer's.

Not to say Meer is bad... but Hale's talent is so much better.

The female voice actress is, to be honest, tremendously more talented which is why I preferred playing as a female character. I simply felt more draw in, as the male play through, even in DRAMATIC moments, often felt "flat",

I have to agree with Hale, "WE WANT TO SEE MOAR FEM!SHEP!"

I'm surprised how much she gets into her character considering she has to record 3 different personalities. The amount of dialogue could probably get tedious at some point.

Just finished listening. I feel for Hale, female Shepard needs more recognition.

Bioware did a great job making a female lead character who isn't some sexualized bimbo. Frankly, female Shepard is the epitome of a strong, female story character who still remains feminine yet isn't cheapened because of her gender. She's every bit as belieavable as a leader as male Shepard is.

So many games today use pathethic over-sexualization of female characters.. mass effect never treats female Shepard this way and it's refreshing.

As a guy, I always had great admiration for female Shep. Moreso than male Shep even.

It was a very nice interview. I thought it was nice that she brought up that people should ask for more Female Shepard. That shows me that she actually cares, which in turn makes me care a bit more about seeing FemShep. It helps that she's a great actor of course. So for her, I ask Bioware please show us more FemShep.

What I find ironic is the fact that on the forums (at least the old one), there have been lots of threads asking for fem!Shep videos and information because of the canon male!Shep that has been shoved down all our throats since the start of the marketing campeign. I just wish that the Bioware team could have followed through for all of us fans who prefer fem!Shep over man!Shep. :?

Wait... is Claudia Black in Mass Effect 2? Or was Jennifer Hale just speaking generally? (With Claudia Black being in Uncharted 2 and DAO.)

I'm assuming the latter, as I would have thought she'd be in the Celebrities trailer.

Claudia Black is in Bioware's other cool beans franchise, Dragon Age

To me thats an oversimplification.

If you've ever seen the youtube video, Meer's renegade delivery is much better than Hale's..  I agree that Hale is the more emotional voice actor, but that can be both beneficial and awkward depending on the situation.

Regardless, it looks like Meer's voice acting has improved considerably for ME2.

OPINION... god. Why can't you just like Hale with out the lot of you restoring to retarded attempts to rip on Mark.
Mark is good... many many people enjoy Mark over Hale, many many people enjoy Hale over Mark.
PERSONAL PREFERENCE AND OPINION!

I agree.  Vanderloo!Shep gets boring and annoying, especially considering he acts like a total douche 95% of the time.  B)

Agreed re: the renegade point.. I didn't mean to diminish Meer's work in ME as I enjoyed it as well.

But Meer was certainly stronger in the renegade role. Hale's performance for paragon Shep was remarkable at times though -- one of the strongest deliveries was when Shep makes an inspirational speech to the normandy before taking off from the station. Her performance there was excellent, whereas Meer's was "good".
