Interrupts you don't take

We've all heard the stories, about how Tali's loyalty mission is the Ultimate Paragon interrupt and almost everyone takes it, or that gutting Kai Leng is the ultimate Renegade interrupt and everyone takes it.

I'm curious, are there any interrupts that, under any circumstance, you simply don't take? Not doing it once just to see, but have no desire to take at all, ever?

I'll never take the Paragon interrupt to reassure Liara after Thessia blows. I don't think it's Paragon, for one, and I'd rather Liara just sit there and cry about it, not get up from the bed. I also don't shoot Udina, and let Ashley or Kaidan do it. I see it as a real sink-or-swim kinda test. They're a Spectre, they gotta make tough calls. Plus, I felt bad for the guy.

What interrupts do you not take?

Different in different playthroughs. I was gonna say "punch Mouse," but then I remembered Jane Shepard.

Let's see... I never punch Gerrel (except with my FailShep, modelled after Jayne Cobb).

I've never pushed that merc out the window.

I KNOW.

Which ultimate Tali Paragon interrupt? The hugging when she finds her dad? I did it when I first played, I think, but now that I know what it is, I avoid it. I don't like roleplaying a few scenes like that, I guess.. Not unless it's a romance cutscene or something. Hard for me to even play a "Paragon" Shep that way. I kind of see them the same way as Samara. A little standoffish.

edit: wait, you must only be referring to ME3 and Rannoch. Got confused when you said "loyalty mission".

In my first playthrough of ME2 I didn't shock the engineer working on the gunship when you recruit Garrus, so when the gunship ended up almost killing him I honestly thought it was because of that interrupt. I felt SO guilty.

-My RacistShep will NEVER hug Tali. However, he may not even recruit/loyalize Tali in the first place sooooo.
-Kai Leng won't be interrupted by my RacistShep or FailShep (who will never take interrupts because he's kinda slow in the head from that EP beacon)

On my main playthroughs, I don't take wanton violence interrupts. If there's a chance for negotiation, I'll take it. Doesn't mean we'll agree, or I'll not fight them, but I wanna hear them out. It's probably why I wasn't so *utterly disgusted* by the Catalyst as others, even though I very much dislike the placement of the whole thing and some of its implementation.

Oh yeah, and I let Ashley shoot Udina in the DefaultNewShep playthrough I just did. It felt so much more appropriate.

I never have saved Petrovsky, so there's another interrupt I avoid.

For the sparring match with Vega I always take the first renegade hit-don't use the paragon dodge so Vega hits me-hit him again on the 2nd renegade prompt-then I use the paragon throw on Vega when he charges. It fits every one of my sheps, male or female. I get my licks in, he gets one, but when he gets angry I show him how that anger is blinding him and he needs to stay cool under pressure. My custom femshep looks so cute with the nosebleed from the fight, and Jen Hale does some very convincing VO for that scene.

Well, the Paragon interrupt before Tali kills herself on Rannoch is pretty pointless, so I skip that one.

Also the pull-up ones on the CDLC. F that noise.

Yeah, I don't shoot Legion either. He just pisses me off. Like Michael Corleone and Fredo: "You're breaking my heart!"

edit: Wait, Michael got Fredo shot anyways. Nevermind.

In ME3 I almost take them all. I hated how it was reduced to be what drove the conversations sometimes. In some cases the dialogue just ends if you don't take the interrupts and IMO that's a misuse of that mechanic.

Never shot garrus' rifle...might have to next time. same with knocking out the engineer and dropping the merc out the window. or punched what's her face interviewing me. Basically, i've only done mostly paragon with one paragade.

my next will be my first mostly renegade that will hit all of these renegade interrupts.

I never shocked the engineer working on the gunship in ME2(I would have preferred just to incapacitate him, not kill him), I don't knock the merc out the window(well, usually), and I don't punch the news lady, just never saw the point. Even if I hit her, she's still a ****. As for paragon interrupts, I don't usually skip them(yeah yeah I know, maybe I'm a goody little two shoes, sue me).

I don't take most of the renegade options since I play this game as if I was in that position personally. I wouldn't kill anyone unless it was absolutelly the last solution. I don't throw the mercenary through the glass, I don't kill the young Asari mercenary after she gives up etc.

It depends on the Shepard, although with Paragades or Renegons I always tend to prefer the Renegade interrupts over the Paragon ones. The only ones I never do (that I can remember) are Tali's hug thing in ME2, and the one when she throws herself off the cliff.

Between five Shepards, I believe I've done them all, but on my main career I ignore these ones...

-- I do not push that merc out the window.
-- I do not shoot that other merc on Samara's recruitment mission.
-- I do not hit Elias Kelham.
-- I do not pistol-whip Gavin Archer.
-- I do not punch Khalisa; I do not support her either (it's the right thing to do, but I can't claim to have forseen it).
-- I do not stop Garrus from wounding lolHarkin.
-- I do not take the first interrupt in the VS/Udina standoff (I had no clue what it was going to do, so I didn't touch it).
-- I do not try to showboat during the Blasto shooting.

Have no desire to take? My femShep is brutal.

The only thing I've ever seen on youtube vids is the real classic with Ash or Wrex -- Let your team mate do the dirty work for you because your Shepard is too much of a coward to do it themselves.

* Punch Khalisah - this is the only renegade interrupt I've no desire to take ever.

I think the only paragon interrupts I've actually taken regularly is Kal Reegar's (I can't let animal mother die), Tali's and Liara's and Samara's

This is not the thread for me... Okay making a competing thread.

I don't like beating on Khalisah either. I like walking away actually.. at least in 2. The lines are pretty good there (she calls you broken, once the darling of the Alliance. It's perfect. Now if only Shep stayed that way in 3).

I like to explore them all for the lulz, especially for ruthless Shep, but for my primary campaign, I don't:

-punch Khalisah
-kick Mouse around
-punch Han'Gerrel

2 definitely had the most fun when it came to interrupts, so I had to do most of them. They were all begging for it anyway.

Never punched Khalisa.

Never stopped Garrus from wounding Harkin.

Never punched Mouse.

I let the Virmire Survivor kill Udina. It feels like more appropriate for the VS to be the one to do it, considering how trust issues w/ Shepard were a big part of their story line.

remembered another one I never take...

I never interrupt Aria while she's choking the crap out of Petrovsky.
