Paranoia prevents me from choosing renegade interrupts. My first playthough of ME2 saw me unable to use the paragon response to solve the Jack/Miranda fight, resulting in me losing Jack's loyalty. Since then I've been afraid to choose anything but paragon interrupts and responses just in case, I know it's stupid, I know that choosing a renegade interrupt does not cause your paragon rating to decrease - but there you go, it's paranoia at it's best,
Get the same paranoia in ME3, I'm terrified of not having enough paragon points to peacefully resolve the issue on Ranoch between the Quarians and the Geth - Having said that I gritted my teeth during my current playthought and allowed my Shep to recite the right response during James' challenge in Purgatory - you know? The one where James tells Shep that the marines in the bar have trouble relating to Shep as one of their own... even now, there's this stupid voice in my head telling me I've made a terrible error and just doomed Tali to death...
I'm just a hopeless case.
