I'm a bit shocked I didn't notice this before. The ideas for this game seem great, and I'm confident these guys would deliver.

But time's a ticking and they're still somewhat lacking in reaching the primary goal even when there's about 10 days left.

The awesome-looking game from the creators of Myst really needs people backing it. If we reach a bit more than the initial goal, we'd even have Oculus Rift and localization supported.

You have my attention.

Of the kickstarters I've seen so far, this and numanera are the only ones I'd consider donating to. The concept art looks great - the first picture almost reminds me of the otherwordliness you'd see from either WoW: Burning Crusade or the lesser known game, sacrifice. I'm really glad they're not just doing another sequel. I'd never played end of ages, but heard it was a fitting conclusion.

"As you may know, Rand and his brother Robyn made Myst and Riven together. Robyn just wrapped up his first movie, “The Immortal Augustus Gladstone,” which is slated for release in February 2014. Robyn wrote and directed the film and composed the soundtrack. What you may not realize is he also played the role of Augustus.

Which leads us to some exciting news!

Robyn will be playing one of the lead characters in Obduction! And Rand will be joining him! They’ll both have acting roles in the new game - something they haven’t done together since the original Myst!"

I have trouble getting into the typical point-and-click adventure games, but I like the idea of them, and Myst in particular.

My taste in Adventure Games is about the same - I don't mind third-person classical point-and-click(Full Throttle and Gemini Rue are still my favorites to date), but first-person is always going to have a level of immersion you're not going to get from other games. Classical types tend to get into Convoluted Puzzles and Pixel Hunting that becomes less like fun, and more like work.

Myst had an atmosphere I hadn't really seen before, this somewhat ethereal isolated island encouraging you to explore it. The soundtrack sells the mood.

Still need to get the later Myst games.

I haven't tried the 5th, but 1-3 were solid. I never finished 4, but it seemed nice enough.

They've jumped at least $100,000 since I checked a day or two ago. I wish I'd heard of this before or they'd put out more of a word in the gaming media, since I only learned of it when Polygon ran an article. But now that they've done that, I think they'll make it.
