Could be that he's dying morally, psychologically, there are a lot of ways to die beyond ceasing to exist. Won't know for sure for a week.

It could be "Im dying" "to stop this life of killing" since they didn't leave anytime for him to say anything afterward, we can only speculate. But if it is actual death being told, then yes, space aids.

Old age or disease I imagine
but that is too simple I think Bioware might throw us a curve ball.

Call up cerberus to heal him up...after all they did bring shep back from the dead...how hard could it be to stop someone from dying...

Thane is 39 years old, and the life expectancy for the Drell is 85 at least. He still would have a good amount years to live if he wasn't an assassin or have the suppose disease.

My guess is he already had it for a number of years, and only when Shepard meets him is when the disease is in the final stages. There better be some way to cure it....

I hope we can find a cure for him. That, or he has that plague that's been running rampant in Omega? Maybe one of his targets gave him some meanie pills?
