Bioware really needs to stop making the henchmen so damned young. How about a bit more mature?

I think the ME cast is somewhat diverse, age-wise. Wrex and Samara are up there in years, and my impression is that Zaeed is too. Mordin is, I think, about 30, which would probably be late middle-age for a salarian. Not sure about Javik, but I'm guessing he isn't particularly young by prothean standards. And I had actually pictured Garrus as older than 20-something - kind of surprised to hear BW confirm otherwise.

Re: Garrus on Omega/Liara development - didnt me2 come out around the time Nolan Batman movies did, namely The Dark Knight? Dark and rdgy were all en vogue those days.

They should have put Shepard's body from the destroy ending on a boat and tied his/her waifu (alive) to a mast, with the space hamster, poured gasoline all over it, set it out in the channel and fired flaming arrows and set it on fire. That's the way the game should have ended. We would have had closure, and a hero's funeral. There, now David can't object. lol.

The virginity was fetishized. I can almost understand Tali with those damned suits making it difficult. Almost. But Liara?

Another question -- was Shepard a virgin? 30 + years old? ... in the Navy? ... nah.

Bioware really needs to stop making the henchmen so damned young. How about a bit more mature?

I'm also guessing Geralt wasn't heroic in The Witcher and The Witcher 2. Damn. Talk about a f***athon.

Was it ever stated that Shepard was a virgin? Maybe never having been in a serious relationship, but I don't think Shepard's sexual history came up at all...

Even if he/she was, you can get casually laid by Sha'ira within the first hour of the game.

"Now that I got that out of the way, I can get on with business...."

My Shep would never be seduced like that!

He was just massaged and like me, my Shep LOVES MASSAGES.

You're not serious, are you?

In any case, I wonder what the average age of Bioware gamers is. Before, I thought they would have coincided with many D&D players (a fairly old crowd), but they haven't been associated with D&D for some time. The average gamer age (apparently) is 30. On the other hand, in 2011 it was 37. I just turned 36 myself. It'd be nice if more games adjusted accordingly.

It is a bit unusual.

While it is true that it isn't exactly rare for people to be shy or introspective, neither of those things is necessarily a large obstacle to dating other people. And it is a rare for people in a similar stage of life as Liara (university graduate / established in a career) to still be virgins regardless of whether they're introverted or extroverted. Of course there are always outliers, so I could overlook that if there weren't other issues with how often or why Bioware characters are portrayed that way.

Except her virginal status comes up exactly once.  And then only if you are romancing her.

Her introspective, somewhat nerdy and socially awkward status permeates her character far more.

There is a trope fro it:  Adorkable.  But it applies to both men and women

I dislike adorkable.

I think it's pathetic. I like stronger women, who are capable, confident, and competent. And they have a very goal-oriented philosophy.

I'll agree with the first part. Can't say I care about goal orientation specifically though. That's your Te in INTJ, Massively. I think most people in my family are like that. I'm a Se type (go with the flow, impulsivity, meet opportunity as it comes).

That's pretty weak actually. Labeling someone that is best reserved for the completely immobile. Like prisoners and crackheads.

I mean just "not going anywhere", destroying any chances in life.

I know people who are that screwed or screwed themselves that way before they died. No one here is like that.

For one, you have internet access. You're also in college, right? And you get to waste time with recreational stuff like Mass Effect. Either that means you have a good enough job for disposable income, or you have parents who care enough to buy games.

I have a friend serving 60 years to life, for stabbing another friend and throwing him off a balcony. Both are (or were) Omega males. Everyone here is better off. ;)

I don't watch anime, so I don't get (or honestly care) about the refererence.

I can tell you from experience what happens when two dominant people come together. The one woman I ever I fell in love with, that's what happened. Then life had to be a ****.

Last time I checked, Naoto and Mitsuru are not from anime, well Naoto maybe but that anime was based on the game.

I knew guys and gals who don't have anything except a headstone and a coffin. Be it military, alcohol, and in one case, a murder-suicide. I knew a couple where the girl, who was actually the quiet passive one and had the loud, obnoxious, and intimidating boyfriend actually did it. Turned out she was even more screwed up than he was. Domestic abuse - on her part. She was hitting him and being the abusive one. Life is weird.

I did just mention I didn't care where they're from. Japanese names. Manga, Anime, or some Japanese video game. Doesn't matter to me, I'm not really a Japanophile.
