::shrugs:: Depends on the character for me. I romance Ash in Mass Effect, but I prefer Aerie in Baldur's Gate. I can romance either Morrigan or Leliana in DAO (though I romance Leliana more, as I prefer Morrigan's friendship path.)
"Pathetic" is far too strong a word, especially since it by no means contradicts the capable and competent parts, and only minorly impinges on "confident."
