Last time I checked, Naoto and Mitsuru are not from anime, well Naoto maybe but that anime was based on the game.

I did just mention I didn't care where they're from. Japanese names. Manga, Anime, or some Japanese video game. Doesn't matter to me, I'm not really a Japanophile.

What is the difference if they refer to any of those?

I dislike adorkable.

I think it's pathetic. I like stronger women, who are capable, confident, and competent. And they have a very goal-oriented philosophy.

::shrugs::  Depends on the character for me.  I romance Ash in Mass Effect, but I prefer Aerie in Baldur's Gate.  I can romance either Morrigan or Leliana in DAO (though I romance Leliana more, as I prefer Morrigan's friendship path.)

Ashley is far, far, far too narrow-minded and self-righteous to take seriously IMO. Plus, I simply do not find her physically attractive. Leliana isn't so much adorkable as she is compassionate. I like her a lot, but I also like Morrigan as well. DA ironically doesn't really suit me for romances.

It is a bit unusual.

While it is true that it isn't exactly rare for people to be shy or introspective, neither of those things is necessarily a large obstacle to dating other people. And it is a rare for people in a similar stage of life as Liara (university graduate / established in a career) to still be virgins regardless of whether they're introverted or extroverted. Of course there are always outliers, so I could overlook that if there weren't other issues with how often or why Bioware characters are portrayed that way.

Except her virginal status comes up exactly once.  And then only if you are romancing her.

Her introspective, somewhat nerdy and socially awkward status permeates her character far more.

There is a trope fro it:  Adorkable.  But it applies to both men and women

"Pathetic" is far too strong a word, especially since it by no means contradicts the capable and competent parts, and only minorly impinges on "confident." I have no objection to the personality type you mentioned, although I definitely favored the fettered more than the opposite.

I'd change Morinth by making her Reaper-proof. Everything else about her is perfect.

Liking anime, JRPGs and manga do not make you a Japanophile, just to let you know.

Whatever

Anyway, the point is, I don't know about that stuff, or care about it. The little amount of anime I've seen really didn't leave much impression on me.

Kelly and Miranda were my favourites. But they were both missing something. Kelly was a bit freaky (my type, incidentally) and would totally have had a tattoo somewhere, probably intimate.

And Miranda should totally have had a couple of tattoos. Like a tramp stamp, or some barbed wire on her arm. She was such a total badass, it seemed like such an obvious no-brainer. The love scene would have been so much better that way.
