I might even sacrifice Ashley on Virmire if I could then replace Kaiden on the Normandy for Jack. Kaiden can teach those brats while I have my girl with me.

Do you sacrifice Kaidan on Virmire just because he's male? Or is there more to it than that? After reading your posts and some threads, I really am curious.

No, but I feel like a complete arse if I leave Ashley behind, even if I have no chemistry with her. "Women and Children First", I guess you could call it.

I prefer "people who have more utility and use".

I hate to be a jackass, but it's thinking like this that makes me oppose having women in combat arms in the military. Not because they can't do the job, but because their mere presence puts this kind of thinking forward from men.

Just put ugly women out there then. No one will bend over backwards then. :wizard::devil:

Yeah.... Desert Queens have something to say about that.

To take a page from my Navy... brethren, it's what you call a 2-10-2. A girl who's a 2 gets deployed and is the only available woman (there are Officers but they're untouchable to the Joes.) After a few weeks, she starts to become a very good alternative to all the goats or camels (theater dependent). When she comes back, she returns to her status as an uggo who you wouldn't set your drunk buddy up with.

My right hand and my cot did the job for me just fine.

Later on, there was a girl in our platoon who was, for all intents and purposes, the platoon bed bunny, though we ended up together on a more permanent basis. She was alright. 5/10. We even had a pregnancy scare. That was when the PL stepped in and told us to knock it off.

Well, the insight into your psyche is sort of interesting, but also regrettable.

Jacob gets the Raiden/Luke Cage treatment. Drop the straight man act and give him some edge. In ME3, rather than run off like a coward and spend time hiding from the galaxy with a group of scientists who've recently gotten a conscience, he goes back to the Alliance with Shepard and back the Commander up. Give him and Kaidan some opportunity to show off their biotic power in a cutscene and make him more of a "take'-no-****" type of guy. As a bonus, he can space an enemy with Javik.

Kaidan, while a decent character, could be even better by not being such a nice guy in ME3. Make him battle hardened and follow up his post Sanctuary dialogue with some more of that fiery emotion.

Jack has a great arc, but it happens all too soon. Make the time leap between 2 and Arrival 6 months, make 3 about a year later. Then her ME3 appearance makes more sense. Also, being part of the Alliance, she should rejoin Normandy with Jacob.

Miranda get her business done with the aid of the Normandy. Make her supposed title ("2nd in command of Cerberus") mean something. She should point you toward Gellix, Sanctum, and Sanctuary. Keep the ice queen archetype.

Tali. Make her more mature. Its like she reverts to a child in the games. In ME1, she's young and unproven, slightly naiive, yet street smart. This Tali'Zora looks like a future admiral. In ME2, she shows some leadership and indepentant qualities during Freedom's Progress and upon her recuitment. Make her more confident and drop the drunken college girl garbage. I want to see her giving orders and mission suggestions in ME3, not being a follower and hollow leader.

Garrus is mostly fine, but I'd give a reason for dropping his lessons with Shepard during ME1. If more paragon, have him as a Spectre bent on taking down a merc band who drew the ire of the council. Renegade remains the same. Throw in a bit of his ME3 arc where he followed Shepard's lead in keeping knowledge of the reapers in the council's minds.

Kai Leng. Make him a tough bastard. That ice cold killer that Shepard can never shake. Make him a combination of Jack Krauser and Vamp. The boss' (TIM) REAL #2. Keep the scripted scene of him and some phantoms storming the Normandy to slow down Shep's progress in fighting the reapers so Cerberus remains a step ahead. Make him his own man again. Have him constantly harrass Shepard and kick the **** out of the squad by himself (and the gunship fire support) on Thessia. The same guy who made a habit out of gutting turians in Retribution with reaper upgrades should not be on par with Shepard. He should be like Bane (TDKR) in terms of unstoppableness. Have Aria storm Cronos with the Normandy and with her assistance should Kai Leng die a warrior's death. His fight with Thane should involve him moving inhumanly fast and blasting Shepard and co. when they try to interfere (think Wesker in RE5 when laying suppressing fire on Sheva aboard the bomber). Also give him a different voice actor like the guy who played Silver Lion in Man With The Iron Fists.

Wrex. Perfect in ME2. Stern, open-minded, ready. In ME3 there was waay to much jolly Wrex and smiling. It was off putting. Tone down jolly Wrex until after Tuchanka.

EDI. Ditch the body and the pinnochio story. Keep her as is in ME2, or don't sexualize her getting a body.

Legion, ditch the pinnochio story. Have the geth get subjugated by the reapers, not willingly submit. Legion rejects the reaper code but strives to push the geth to achieve such an upgrade on their own terms. Show other geth interacting with him to give insight.

Traynor. Tone down her role (give the option to recruit Kelly to the Alliance to keep her job as Yeoman on the Normandy). She should NOT be making the Shadow Broker look stupid and useless. Ditch the EDI obsession...

Oh, Wrex is just happy to be among friends again; bringing Garrus and Liara to Sur'Kesh really brings him out.

I concur: It would be nice to see the "Shadow Broker" providing Shepard with the much-needed information. And yes, if Gabby and Ken can get over the abduction, so should Kelly.

Krogan are known for two things after all: They live for up to a thousand years and they very easily get attached to specimen of short-lived species. These weeks on the Normandy must have outshone everything Wrex has ever experienced in the centuries before.

From a krogan standpoint surely a very liberal interpretation of "long-term".

But they're just relatively negative compared to the positivity that surrounds Shepard.

:crying: I will never make a fully matured krogan warleader swoon.

Wrex was happy in ME2 as well, but he wasn't trying to be a comedian or Smilin' Bob.

Wrex... Pre-Tuchanka was fine. After Tuchanka? all he could think about was Krogan, and more Krogan, and more Krogan, and more Krogan, and more Krogan, and more Krogan.... which of course is what we got to see in the slides. We had no idea how fast they can pop them out.

Traynor: should have been an IT specialist, and Yeoman. Give the detailed information lines they stole from the Shadow Broker back to Liara so she's a competent Shadow Broker again.

Kelly? I support Kelly for recovery from her abduction, and returning as the ship's much needed psychologist, which was what her actual job was on the Normandy. She should not have been a romantic interest, and should have been someone whom Shepard could talk to about those stupid dreams, all the stress, etc., She should have been recruitable -- the library could have been split in two with the VS having one part available.

As an alternative to Kelly, Shepard could have been a chain smoker and an alcoholic.

If you had Leviathan, you could bring the head back, set it on the table in your quarters, pour yourself drinks, smoke cigarettes, and tell the head your problems. Don't forget to have a lot of f-bombs in the conversations. The head remains silent even though Shepard asks rhetorical questions. You can do this once after every one of the more major missions within the acts and get a different set of conversations. Each conversation shows Shepard losing it a little more. If Shepard goes this route, Shepard shows up drunk for briefings with Tevos and Hackett after Thessia (not having to do with Thessia, but having to do with the fact that Cerberus was there and we just lost the f***ing war). Shepard makes no apologies says "I'm not drunk, I'm just buzzed, now if you'll f***ing excuse me I'm going to get f***ing drunk. sir." War Assets: minus 150. The game needed this option. I would have bought Leviathan for it.

Zaeed... I wanted Zaeed on my ship.

Oh, yeah. Get rid of the "push button dialog" with your crew. I felt like I was tapping them on the shoulder.

Because it would be really really unprofessional for a supposedly professional psychologist?

You don't know much about clinical psychology, do you? Psychologists are not supposed to get involved with their patients. Kelly would be the ship's psychologist. This includes the Commander.

Shepard has no one... no one to talk to. Everyone dumps their problems on Shepard.

So, because Ash and Kaidan also acted unprofessionally, their behaviour is no longer unprofessional. Seriously, one would have more luck arguing with a brick wall than with BSN dwellers.
