I had a suspicion that it might be that, but I dislike maple syrup. I much prefer honey on my pancakes, they're more flavoursome that way. I understand that Americans like to serve their panckaes with maple syrup. but it doesn't complement pancakes as well as honey does.

This is one of the few times I'll agree. Blueberry honey is fantastic if you can find that.
