Is anybody else giving Bioware a last Chance with this?

Anyway, I'm hoping it does great, but it's not a day one for me. I'm done with Day one purchases from Bioware.

Mass Effect 3 was a last chance, then it was the Extended Cut, now it's Dragon Age Inquisition....
I'm detecting a pattern.
Don't forget ToR. I heard that threat thrown around a lot prior to that game's launch as well.

Do I despise the route Bioware took with ME3? Yes but I cannot condem all of Bioware for that. I for one liked Dragon Age 2. Sure it doesn't measure up to Origins but for what it was, it was enjoyable. So no. I have not given up on Bioware. They have made many games of which I am fond of. I am by no means the fan boy I once was. I would like to believe that Bioware can still produce a quality story. I'll even give ME4 a try if good things are heard. But no. Bioware will need to pull another ME3 ending level of bad for my resolve to be shaken.

What might make me stop buying a game from Bioware is if they produced a game with the levels of problems Skyrim had. There was something terribly wrong with the game for many PS3 players. My game froze so much that I could not finish it. There have been at least 9 patches, and still there are bugs and problems for many. The apparently lack of Quality Assurance will certainly make me think twice about trying another product by that company!

That said, I don't really believe in 'last chances' - it is entirely possible that Bioware will make another excellent game in the future. Bioware is firmly off my list of companies that I would purchase a game on day 1 with little hesitation however. Whatever they release from hereon will have to be reviewed (by the community) as being excellent before I'd be willing to even think about purchasing it.
Whereas (seeing as it seems to come up a lot as a yardstick), The Witcher 3 will without a doubt be a day 1 purchase for me.

I long ago came to terms with the fact that, sooner or later, every favoured business will produce a product that I do not enjoy or have no interest in. It is statistically inevitable.
As long as they continue to provide same-sex romance options, I'll probably keep buying Bioware's games.

My sentiments exactly.I've haven't played a bad (or even mediocre) Bioware game yet, so no, no "last chances" here.

Before DA2 or after? Don't get me wrong. You always have a group of people that have hated on every game ever made, especially depending on the site, but I don't really remember as much negative talk on the BSN before DA2 was released (well, before the demo and stuff getting leaked anyway).lady_v23 wrote...

I never got into ME2 because I don't play shooters therefore I didn't play ME3 but I understand there was a lot of complaints about the storyline in ME3 but that being said, it would never influence my decision to buy DAI because it is a totally different universe.
I have many "concerns" about DAI and am going to wait to purchase it until after its been out a while purely on "story line" and "character development" issues. Tho I am 90% sure I will eventually get it.

Then perhaps I may buy the game after that secondhand.

well personally that ship has sailed for me in me3, but I will follow DAI very closely to see if bioware has "changed their ways" (highly unlikely).

This is where I am at as well. ME3 was (for me) Bioware's "last chance" and they blew it. By that I mean is that I'll no longer pre-order Bioware games nor trust the pre-release commentary, trailers, or demos. I'll wait until real people play it and I can get some unvarnished feedback. If it's good then, I'll consider DAI and future Bioware titles.

Bioware has a mature elegance combined with interactive deep detailed story-telling that no one else can touch. (No, I wouldn't call the Witcher series elegant.)
And Yes, the female RPG VO option is critical, and the romances are serious selling features.
Each instalment was different - but all enjoyable in their own way.
I'll stop before this degrades into an analytical rant at "some fans" with their melodramatic "last chance" declarations.
