I would say only about a third to a half of my shots are charged. When you have time, charge it, when you don't, don't. Its the reason I prefer it, and the gps, to the accolyte for dealing with platinum phantoms when soloing.

FTFY. Actually, the Venom is even more awesome on PC because of the quicker and more precise aim.

Most players, sadly, fail to realize that the Venom needs some practice to use effectively.

Everyone has his/hers favorite weapons/characters. Let's not forget that the weapon is only as good as the person who weilds it. If you don't like a certain gun or class then you are guaranteed to not play well with it.
I personally do my best matches with the Lancer and I know that it's not the best weapon in the game, but it is the best weapon FOR ME. I am sure the Venom is the best weapon for many people.

Cooldowns are overrated. It synergies perfectly with pretty much all kits in this game.

I completely agree. But I was just trying to point out that not understanding a weapon may lead you to dislike it. I don't really like the accolyte because of the charge mechanic, which was your original issue, but I do like the Venom. First time I tried it (admittedly at level 1), I thought it was pretty bad but have come to appreciate it with a bit of practice.

I'm not convinced by that statement either. I suspect the Venom would be awesome with an aimbot.

I understand how to use it, but I like to shoot for the head 99% of the time. A weapon that is designed to shoot at the feet it's not my favorite.
That doesn't mean it's a bad weapon or that it can't be the " best weapon " ( if there is such a thing ). It definetly has the qualities to be in the top 5 weapons of the game.

Charge Venom > Charge Enemy > Release Venom > Throw Nades > Profittt!!1!1!
All in 1 second.
And if still there are any mooks, bounce them with the remaining shots. Still someone standing up? BC again or melee hard

I remember a while back I was doing my second or third bronze solo with the kishock, and phantoms started spawning. I thought to my self "Great, won't be ale to take her down with one shot.". So I charge the gun, fire.... Next thing I know there's a decapitated body flying around lol
