Angryjoe's review is precisely why I want to get it. It has the most awkardly hilarious sex scenes I've seen since "The Room".

It's called opinion and I'm not alone in listing Oblivion and Fallout 3 (see the above people). In fact I'd say the people who like these games are on crack or simply haven't played the prior games in the series and are blinded by their nostalgia and/or fanboyism for a deteriorating series. (And don't use that back at me. I played the likes of Baldur's Gate and the original Fallout's only a few years ago. There's a reason why these games withstand the test of time and why the likes of Oblivion hasn't. Anyone going back to Oblivion from Skyrim hates it)
I prefer Fallout 3 and New Vegas to the earlier Fallout games(which I did still enjoy), and I still enjoy both Oblivion and Skyrim in their own ways.
but apparently my opinion is wrong or "misinformed" because it doesn't agree with your opinion.

Resident Evil 5, Mass Effect 3, Diablo III, Dragon Age II, were all very ungerwhelming, and I'd even name StarCraft II if it didn't have its multiplayer, but none of these were quite as soul crushingly bad as Metroid Other M.

I'd honestly put Skyrim in the top 10 of this gen, don't know what you are all crying about..
Biggest disappointment of this gen was ME3, no question about it.
Biggest failure? Hard to know where to start. There's DA2, the entirety of the Splinter Cell series this gen, etc.. etc.. It's hard to call out indies for "failing" as there is not much there to start with, but the big budget failures are simply terrible.

Most people who dislike Skyrim, do so because:
1. They feel it didn't live up to the hype, or simply didn't meet their own expectations. Fair enough.
2. It's not as good as other similar game(s) they played. Fair enough.
3. They're morons.
Most people fall into one of the first two. Elton John falls into category 3.
There are also a number of people who "hate" Skyrim, yet can't seem to stop talking about and playing it. Two prominent members of this forum, who I shall not name, are like that.
And yes, ME3 is the single most disappointing game of this generation, bar none. I figured it's not worth mentioning though since that dead horse has already been beaten enough.

Skyrim like Oblivion is only good after alot of mods, though I don't consider it a disapointment for me since I expected it after Oblivion and FO3(which like Skyrim, are only good with a bunch of mods)Volus Warlord wrote...

Aliens: Colonial Marines?
Alien vs. Predator?
Bioshock 2?
Isn't Sonic 06 part of this generation?

Not much of a debate, really. But you're right, the ending was not the worst thing: the entire script was poorly written, and the gameplay was highly tedious in many spots. It was a step down from its predecessors in nearly every way.
Which is why I stated it is the most disappointing game of this generation (a concept that seems to have went over your head).
Here, I'll go grab some whips... let's flog a dead horse for another 20 pages.

Who says I'm just pointing out the ending? I didn't mind the ending, the game itself was the problem.

Aliens was one of the most soul crushing gaming disappointments of the last decade.
Great point. I played the first couple alien games on PC back in the day and they were amazing. The very first one where you could play as an alien, predator or human was one of my favorite games. They online portion was very fun and addicting as well. After the second one the follow ups were terrible. biggest series let down aside from ME3 single player campaign.

Duke Nukem Forever.
Bomberman act zero
Terminator Salvation
Resident Evil 6
Aliens Colonial Marines
Dogs, all of them. Terrible, terrible games.
Most underwhelming game.
That would go to Mass Effect 3. ME3 is a great game, it's just not a great or even good Mass Effect game.

I still to this day don't get the hate that RE6 got. Perhaps you could explain your perspective on the matter? In terms of pure gameplay mechanics, I found it superior to RE5 in almost every single possible aspect (yeah, there were a few more QTEs than I would have liked, certainly, but that's nowhere near enough to destroy the gameplay in aggregate). It's storyline was terrible (no surprise), the different campaigns each had different focuses, which I thought was kind of neat, bosses were ok, multiplayer was ok...I just don't get it. Average RE game. Slightly better than RE5, big step down from RE4, in my books anyway.

Being one of BSN's biggest WH40k kids, it hits home when a game about being a Space Marine doesn't make being a Space Marine fun.

Holy hell, that is one of the worst games I've ever seen. How did that even make it onto store shelves?
