Is anyone else playing Mass Effect 1 again just to have a character to import? Making sure all the choices you make this time are the ones you really want to make knowing what will have an effect and all that? I’m doing it right now, making a Shepard that is perfect.
Is anyone else doing this?

Me too! Making the perfect Shepard, I thought. Then I realised his beard was in a different colour as his hair. DANG!

In a sense. I've only created one new shep so I can have all the classes... But I am wrapping up playthroughs, going to every system, making sure each file is 100% complete in its own way. It gives me a great excuse to play for exceedingly large amounts of time.

I'm just trying to muster up the motivation to complete my playthrough with my newly leveled 60 char, I've beaten the game about 6 times now and it's getting pretty hard to force myself to do a lot of the side missions etc, just 6 more days left though, I just need to put on some music and push through it but damn the UNC mishs are a bore :/

I'm playing it too but it's cuz I have to, for I decided to switch from 360 to pc.
Now I end up doing a lot of sidequest, and I don't even know why. Just driven into them. I didn't really like the repetitiveness before, but now I don't think the sidequests are not that bad. dunno why.

Yup.
My MShep has 2? sidequests to go, Noveria, the Rachi sidequests, then Virmire.
Then over the weekend I shall do a refresher/import FemShep.

I just finished mine yesterday, I'm glad ME2 can tell which characters did what, because other than this latest one, I haven't the foggiest.

I had an 100% adept femshep that I did a year ago ready for ME2. During the summer I decided to play ME again out of boredom. I created a vanguard femshep and completely fell in love with the class, so I did two more playthroughs to get her to 100% for import.
I then lent the game to a friend in North Carolina a month ago. Now after helping her with the game about missions and gameplay information, I want to play again...

I just finished mine recently, though I still didn't get everything done exactly as I wanted now that I look back on it. I refuse to go back and do another playthrough though. As somebody else stated, the side missons kill apart of me everytime I play the game. They're fine on the first playthrough, maybe even the second, third, and fourth. As it stands now though, I'm just tired of them. They're just too repetitive and I'd just rather not deal with them anymore.
I truly hope that when ME2 comes out we find out that the difference between the bonuses between level 50-59 and 60 characters isn't that big of a deal. If it's up to me I'll only do single playthroughs for now on to get my characters ready for ME2, because as I stated the sidequests are killing me. Literally my only true fault with the first game outside some other minor things.

Yep I started a fresh new character yesterday that I plan to prep for ME2. I beat the game 12 times but that was a bit over a year ago and I want to enter ME2 with a freshly imported toon.. can't remember what all my old one's did anymore

I'm doing my final run for my Femshep now, Hit level 60 and now I just need to go through the game doing all the sidequests and making my choices. Of course I still might start a Default shepard just so I can see some of his LI or other in ME2.

Wish I could. I want a mostly paragon maleshep playthrough with no LI, but I just can't make myself do it.
Hope the default choices they force you to take with a new character in ME2 aren't too far from what I like.

Im playing my final import now. Unfortunetly though I didn't want to romance anyone this time and I think ive accidently romanced Ash. Anyone know if I can get rid of her when heading to Illos so when I import this game I wont have a romance? Paragon option if theres the option.
