Youtube's new layout is horrible.

They converted my screen name to my real name because of linking to Google+.
When I tried to change it back, they said I wasn't allowed, because Google + will only accept real names in the field for screen names.
I just about **** myself.
I fixed that somehow - I forgot though - I think I just disabled something.
I managed a workaround, for now, but the link still exists, and I am not permitted to sever it, so far. I'm hoping they reverse the policy, since it should be illegal in most jurisdictions, anyway, because of privacy laws.
They did this to me after linking a while back. I managed to sort it out, but after a while it changed back again of its own volition. And it just keeps happening. So watch out for that, your damn right about it being a breach of privacy.
And WTF have they done to the comments section? Its that cluttered now that it practically makes me feel nauseous just looking at it.

It's just as well: YouTube comments sections are usually cesspools.

You would think they would fix the problems youtube already has before changing the layout again but nooooo. My sub box still remains broken like it was 8 months ago.
Damn, for real?
I remember that annoying glitch.
It affected me for couple of months, until it got randomly fixed.

Heard some bad news apparently youtube vids are not being monetized for some reason.
That will ruffle some feathers. And by some I mean a lot. Plenty of online reviewers require their videos to be monetized, such as TB. Oh, dear.
Do you have a link to the news?

Adding to a list of massive failures that rivals Micro$oft's, Google has decided to restructure YouTube once again but this time for the truly worst. The new comment system/section is described by Google as a "smart" comment system (as in the new "smart" technology flooding the market). Based on Google+ (aka the poor attempt to rival StalkerBook), the new comment system assumes you have all these social contacts on Google+ so you can see "comments sorted by people you care about first."
They title the new system as "Turning comments into conversations that matter to you" but it's just another lame ass attempt to try and attempt to turn YouTube into a more social networking experience (Google tricking some inexperienced/novice internet users into using their full names was the first step).
The result is that you're a guy with a YouTube account constantly being fed and prompted by YouTube to "change your channel" or "use your full name" (with the option to continue using a pseudonym in small print) when you just want to create a play-list, maybe upload a few videos or just get involved in a few discussions (perhaps about the leibniz-newton controversy in a video about the calculus or maybe you want to give your opinion on why Mass Effect 3 had the best ending ever in all media in a ME3 video).
Whatever the reason, you're now being forced into what has slowly been turning into a social networking site. Gone now are the flagged comments (at least the update seems to have removed them so now all the spam bot comments are visible again, even ones from years ago), enter; a comment section which YouTube is trying to make into a forum with threads, albeit without the proper structure of a forum.
I've mostly avoided the comment section of videos in the past but now they have become plain unbearable.
Oh and you can only reply to comments where the user has specified to post it public and so people can reply. All comments posted prior to this update can no longer be replied to which has further turned YouTube into a social networking site rather than just a video streaming site where you might go to a music video, post what you like about it and then perhaps engage in meaningful discussion with other fans about it.
What was originally just a video sharing site has now become another "social smart" abomination. I guess it's testament, however, to what all the egotistic facebook and "smart" life-centric users want though. Such is the continuing deterioration of society though.
Worst is that we're seeing all these "smart" and social technologies intergrated into consoles, TV's, PC's (i.e Windows 8) and more as though they're now essential to life and society and that every new thing that comes out must have these features.
0/10 worst than Skyrim.

Desperate? I don't think so. They just know they CAN. I mean... are people going to stop using Android phones, searching with Google, navigating with Google Maps or watch videos other than YouTube? Not any time soon. So why not press their own services into one so they can get a bigger chunk of the market? Just be glad they aren't trying to break into the console market.
...sweet Satan's oat sack - what have I done?!

YouTube can't go a few months without totally screwing something up. And before that they kept trying to get everybody to use their real name? WTF do they think YouTube is? The people in the comment section are of sub-human intelligence and the "YouTube celebrities" they are always trying to push are no better. I'm not going to use my real name in that hellhole.
