I doubt that. He is not welcome on the Presidium, and the Wards were not hit by Saren's strike force. Even if a stray geth jumped him, he could handle it, I guess. I must have been another piece of Sovereign falling on his head to die on the Citadel.
On the other hand, any random firefight could be his last one.
Like somebody said, if he failed to take out Fist, the Shadow Broker could have contracted somebody to take out Wrex. Some other merc. Like Zaeed Messani.
Zaeed: I remember this krogan job I did about a year ago. Old tough bastard, but dumb. Booby-trapped him. Wrote "cure for the genophage" on a bottle with sulfuric acid. he turned out to be a royalty of krogans or something. Maybe that's why they were calling him Rex...
