But seriously, who's really "speculating" over this shizz?

From that image, I can deduce that the game will, at one point, be set in a building that is on a planet.

And that apparently it should be played during cold temperatures while rocking a super-cereal expression.

Together, these two bits of evidence mean the game will be bad, and horribly written and full of plotholes.

Don't pre-order it, folks.

EDIT: Also, I've read projections on 360/PS3 'relevancy' actually last until 2015-2016. We may see titles continue to be crossgen until 2015, minimum.

I imagine how well the next-gen consoles sell will have something to do with that date.

The last time they gave dates was: Late-2014 to 2015.

That was before DA:I's revised release date though, so it may be extended now.

2015 isn't super far away. It's actually a little over a year.

Wait, you got dates for ME4's release? Where?

I just can't see it happening. I don't see it being worth the cost in two years. By that time the conversion (to new consoles) will be pretty complete, I imagine. It's all speculation, of course.

Oh totally! That is why I think Bioware is holding their tongues on the next game. Even *they* may be unsure so far. We'll know next year.

Just double checked my source articles. The information has since been corrected as the source was 'unreliable'.

You very well may be right. I think it may come down to how popular the One/PS4 ends up being. If it turns out to be a slow conversion rate for gamers, imo we'd see a 360/PS3 'ME4' in 2015. If it's fast enough, then we won't. They have the tools - I think it'll come down to it being financially smart to go for it.

See, I find the rest of these far more interesting. Those location concepts and that customization screen.

Agreed. Looks like a human male in N7 armour.

It's way too early to make any real predictions, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are multiple species options for the protagonist.

(Trying to read anything on that customisation menu is annoying :P)

At one of the convention panel events, it might've been PAX, the team seemed very coy when mentioning female aliens and the next Mass Effect.

Do people who think the next game will star Kai Leng or Anderson or Garrus just ignore that every Boware game for the past decade or more has had a female protagonist option?

Not to mention that playing someone with a defined worldview who we've already met is a pretty crazy thing for an RPG that promotes player choice.

Only because you can't see them. If that glare wasn't there they'd just look like human legs.

Yeah, I agree. Why would I bother investing in a new game in a franchise best known for having choices, a type of morality path and a customizable PC, when this major component is tossed out? I guess if the audience at large is really clamoring for something boring like playing Garrus or whoever, BioWare could go that route, but do people really prefer playing one of those set characters rather than one you can have some part in creating?

Set in 2297, and the Termin.... wait Reapers... are after John Connor's great great great great great great grandson.

I am almost certain they cannot possibly have a playable version of even parts of the game ready at this date. Whatever the guy's playing, it's most likely a mere test build, solely for tinkering with the new engine/shaders/game-changing technicality of sorts.

It's safe to assume they wil create this game using computer monitors, and have talented artists draw concept art of things.

I was referring to Gears of War: Judgement, a pointless, forced prequel entry into a series whose third installment had a crap ending and overall anti-climactic resolution.

Even worse:

Mass Effect: Cerberus - play as a Cerberus operative during the organization's formative years and its history up until the end of the Reaper War. During the game you can have sexual relations with Rasa and get to be bossed around by TIM, who tells you to kill a bunch of humans so that humans can stay dominant over aliens in the galaxy. One major choice is that you can join Rasa in defecting from Cerberus or stay loyal to TIM. Either way, the game ends when your character is unceremoniously killed by an either male or female Commander Shepard, which will be the game's one and only save import flag and it's sole reference to the series besides the appearance of Cerberus characters.

What would a next-gen controller look like, anyway?

That's a good question. I have no idea what the Xbox One's controller looks like.

Hmm. Let me look.

Pretty awesome, actually. Like an ergonomic hybrid of the original and 360 controllers.

Image IPB

Shame about the system it's attached to, though.

It's still no Dreamcast controller
