I say just call the series crap and move on if the ending was so disappointing. I was highly disappointed with how the last airbender movie turned out, but I react as a reasonable person does and simply avoids giving money to shamalans avatar adaptations. There isn't a big fan campaign or massive "change the movie!" movement because people recognize there are things beyond simply this movie and move on.

I think the ability to move on is a sign of mental strength, if not even mental health. And thst if a person lacks the ability to let go and deal eith their disappointment in a non-obstructive or obssessive way, thst they are crazy. Same thing with hoarders, same thing with addict collectors, same thing with star wars fans who say the prequels raped or killed their childhood and legitimatly mean it.

I think part of the problem is that some are so attached to certain aspects of the series but also have such major grievances with other aspects. Yes I agree people should have moved on by now, but its much easier to do with say the Last Airbender because there wasn't any redeemable qualities to it from anyone's persepective.

P.S

Love the Airbender reference.

@Sion: Apology accepted.
@Brotharion: You're being too loose with words like crazy and projecting your own hyperbole on Star Wars fans if you think they legitimately mean that the prequels killed their childhood.

It's less far off than you'd think. You'd be surprised how many people on these boards(more than 0 should be a big surprise in my book) actually tried to defend the ME3 endings as "rape". Like, "I have been violated." It's really gross.

Dont know if its true but read Col.Paine's thread on the IT forum. He, allegedly, got a sneak peek of some of the concepts for the new game.

There was mention of at least couple of new races (which neither seemed to be raloi according to him), focus more on exploration and mystery and some other things. Fascinating if true.

I only consider Liara's gift as "rape" more than the ending. :pinched:

At least the first time I played. Now it's just "avoid rape at all costs".

Interactice mediums deserve the same treatment as non-interactive mediums. They should also be held to the same or near close to similsr standards other "passive" mediums are held to. No more special treatment or double standard bs.

That's different insofar as the discussion is about whether the character had been "raped" (this is impossible btw as you either give your consent and do it, or don't and don't it); I was talking about players suggested they themselves had been raped or violated by the endings.

...They tried to defend the endings as rape? I'm not following.
I'd bet my rent money they don't know what's rape. You know what's rape? Rape is rape.
And you know who is crazy? Crazy people. Rape isn't just something you don't like and crazy people aren't just people who use words loosely, disagree with you or have an emotional attachment towards something you've moved on from.

I think that what I'm trying to say is that Brotharion is a hypocrite. Edit: especially when talking about double standards.

It's just a joke. I know what you mean. I'll take just about any opportunity to make a joke about Liara in ME3.

Ugh sorry. In my defense there's some people who really do believe it was rape so sometimes it's hard to tell. Like a permanent /notsureifserious condition when dealing with Liara on these boards.

I think the first pic is a Batarian.

The second... human or Batarian based on the body style. It doesn't match the Turians, Krogan, or Salarians and looks masculine and on the muscular side, which rules out Asari and Drell. Unless it is a new human-like species, I don't think it could be anything else...

Do you have a link?

It sounds like they were in one of the fan-feedback sessions in either Canada or at conventions over the past few months, though I'm pretty sure everyone there had to sign an NDA.

Edit: just to add, I haven't been able to find the thread but that summary sounds very, very similar to what Bioware devs and the studio head have been saying they want to emphasise for the next ME.

(especially the exploration bit, I'm pretty sure Aaryn Flynn mentioned it even as far back as E3)

:police: but the question is are you prepared for more Liara in ME4?
one of the few squadmates that can exist prequel or sequel.
ever since has already been panned out.

Or even better, Garrus stored in cryo for like 800 years, then still alive and kicking in the distant future!

It looks like there will be Turians and Humans... Hardly a surprise though.

One should always be prepared for more Liara. That's probably the only thing I understand about the series now. Everything else is hazy.

Or maybe that first picture is showing a protean and the new enemy will be the reborn Protean empire, back from the dead to enslave the galaxy.

But it looks like like Saren type Turian to me.
