I say just call the series crap and move on if the ending was so disappointing. I was highly disappointed with how the last airbender movie turned out, but I react as a reasonable person does and simply avoids giving money to shamalans avatar adaptations. There isn't a big fan campaign or massive "change the movie!" movement because people recognize there are things beyond simply this movie and move on.
I think the ability to move on is a sign of mental strength, if not even mental health. And thst if a person lacks the ability to let go and deal eith their disappointment in a non-obstructive or obssessive way, thst they are crazy. Same thing with hoarders, same thing with addict collectors, same thing with star wars fans who say the prequels raped or killed their childhood and legitimatly mean it.
I think part of the problem is that some are so attached to certain aspects of the series but also have such major grievances with other aspects. Yes I agree people should have moved on by now, but its much easier to do with say the Last Airbender because there wasn't any redeemable qualities to it from anyone's persepective.
P.S
Love the Airbender reference.
