I normally will always spec proxy mine, it's just amazing. Stagger, debuff, AoE damage, it's really good. I've been trying out the much acclaimed Javelin build with no proxy mine and, while extremely powerful, it's less versatile than my favorite GI+Shotgun+Proxy Mine.
So I suppose that with sniper builds, it's ok not to spec proxy mine, but it absolutely rocks for shotgun builds.
Makes sense?
