If I do at all, which is rare, whatever mysteriously ended up on my Xbox's hard drive. So pretty much Journey, Foreigner, Police, and whatever crazy shit I found on the internet.

I very rarely open the gaming session with a synthetic character playing the System Shock 1 theme.

Whenever I pug, it's a guarantee that I'm listening to some hard rock.
Hearing "Squad member offline" gets old after a few waves.

@Husar LOL
I prefer classical music when playing. Sometimes I switch to nature sounds, aka pugs coughing or making weird jungle sounds in their mic.

If you like metal. Try this one: A.A. Lucassen's Star One:Space Metal.
And the song called: Intergalactic space crusader.
Hits to theme!

Been listening to stuff such as this or This
However, power metal is never a bad choice either nothing better than hearing a metal song based on tolkien's work while playing Mass Effect

MajorStupidity, you get bonus points for Nightfall in Middle Earth.
I usually just shuffle my library, so I get all kinds of things. Classical, soundtracks, rock, metal, jazz, electronic, prog, whatever. Although every once in a while I feel like I should be playing the Benny Hill theme. And it's not always because of other people.

-Swanky Tunes/Hard Rock Sofa/Matisse & Sadko (The Russian EDM scene never fails to deliver.)
-Any Axtone release.
-Recent Breakbot mixtapes
-Eminem - MMLP2
-80's-90's West Coast classic rap
-This and this on repeat when merry drunk (Too bad that none of you will understand the lyrics. Just awesome.)
-Apart from these, Daft Punk's TRON OST album fits this game pretty well.

Nothing. Listening to any sound while playing is a crutch.

I suddenly have the urge to listen to NPR while playing. Maybe Kojo Nnamdi. Then I can keep up with world events while shooting monsters in the face.
