so i was just in a match vancouver/cerb/gold and screwing around as my GI with the spitfire. i came in second on the score board with barely 10000 under the dbag on top and after we hit the lobby the a-hole sends me hate mail saying i was "carried" because i got killed twice and didn't gel. the first time i got dropped by a dragoon saving one of the other players and the dragoon stomped me before i could gel, the second time i got gut shotted by a ninja b****'s sword.


tl/dr: what do you define as being "carried"?

Yeah, when someone scores less than 75k (on gold/plat) and doesn't contribute with objectives.

In my book being carried means that you don't use your rockets, gels (bleeding out on objective waves lol) consumables and you don't help with the objectives. That's all.

True story : I rather wanna play with a Katana Human Soldier teammate who is using rockets when needed, and helping with the hack objective, than with a BW GI scorewh-o-r-e that bleedout on the other side of map, while the rest of the team is doing wave 10 LZ hack on Hydra.

No big deal.  Using an OP kit.  The real elites can do the same using Volus and playing blindfolded.

Of course it works. But if you have a Wraith X, then  it's not so tempting to try it out.

If they are more of a hindrance than an asset in completing the mission (e.g. by ignoring or even hindering objectives, constantly dying in stupid places andsoonandsoforth) and the mission was completed nonetheless, I would consider that those players have been "carried" by those of us who did the main work. Score is not at all a viable indicator of contribution. I will take the overload & healing-turret Level 10 Geth Engineer on my team any day over the Level 20 Drelldept who nukes two spawns but goes down five times each wave.

Id consider them bad if they're below 60 k and at some point that player has to rely on the last surviving team member to complete a wave on they're own.

But scrubs is why I enjoy pug gold. Stupid people doing stupid things is funny.

If someone scores less than 50k in a game I'm in, they were carried.

If they score 200k less than me, it doesn't have to be that I carried them, I could have used an OP set up. For me it's more if they don't even try to help. I've had N7120> that IMO did more for the team, than most high N7's. That's also why I prefer having 3 N7 1 in my lobby, when pugging.

Well, I once played most of the game where I didnt get even that I was testing some new class and a weapon that didnt quite work in that situation. My 3 teammates were krogans and I think most of the time I shot their wide ... rears. It was a bronze game so who cares, we extracted anyway and I got to level 4 with the char
