so, 10000 points is the difference between "contributing" and "being carried"?

When someone uses flamer and scores 7450 points in a plat match after wave 10 before the team wipes- WTF.jpg.

imo score has nothing to do with it. When you're in a game, you can feel when people are pulling their weight, and you sure as hell can feel it when they aren't.

I get outscored, but I don't usually get carried.

Yeah this is a good point - there often isn't enough food to go around, and some players eat faster than others - but often the slower eater can also clear the entire table by themselves as well, it just takes a little longer. ;)

So what you're saying is, the lower your score, the less likely you are to be obese?

Breaking News, score not only determines skill level, but also clearly states how overwieght you are in real life.

Someone make this into a .gif or a mem.

Challenge: pull your weight in 11 waves of UUG while scoring less than 40K. Sabotage not allowed.

Usually when someone uses 6 medigels before wave three starts, they'll need to be carried the rest of the match.

Carried is when the other person could have competed the match without you.

I've seen volus that do 100,000 less... but we couldn't have done it without them. They kept us alive while we slaughtered everything, resed us when the others couldn't, etc. In short, they did things that are invaluable but don't earn much points.

This pretty much sums up my stance on it.  I can't pinpoint exactly what lets me know,  But I know it when it happens.

Adding your own P.S?  (...Justice Potter Stewart on porn) :-)

"I shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of material I understand to be embraced within that shorthand description..."  Potter Stewart on porn "carrying."

Carried: the top scorer doubled your score.

Contributed: the top scorer didn't double your score.

Played well: you came in first place.

Dominated: you came in first place and doubled the score of the second player.

Elite: you broke 300k.

King: you have over 50,000 N7.

I believe that there is a difference between dominating with an OP kit + maxed-out character, and "carrying" someone.

To me, I feel like a carrier whenever I have to constantly revive the same people because they got incapacitated due to confronting a squad of Dragoons + Phantoms on the other side of the map. Or, when I am the only one who even cares about the objectives.

Sometimes I wonder if XFG is just a really diligent troll or crazier than a bag of cats. Then I think about how he opens recruit packs for hours each day and I have my answer.

Kookie you do realize if some of us with more hours than you gave a damn about N7, you wouldn't even have your #2 rating to hang your hat on.

I like to speak (write) in facts. So, here are the facts: I have an N7 rating over 50,000. No other console player on BSN has a rank anywhere near mine. I am therefore the top console player on here. Whatever I say goes. That's how it goes. If calling me a troll makes you feel comfrotable, I won't hold that against you. My rank in this game is on an astronomical scale, the banner display in game lobbies is hardly able to contain it.

I have even seen matches where the player with the lowest score carried because he or she was the one to survive a wave when the rest didn't.

This can be very true sometimes.  Or sometimes the low scoring guy scored low because he was doing objectives by himself while everyone else was too busy getting points, or maybe he spent most of the game watching the other players backs because it was the only way to keep them alive.

Or his powers were just too slow to let him do much, regardless of how good he was.  For example, my Asari Adept got put in a game with three TGIs, each with Harrier X, who spread out across the map.  No matter where I went, by the time my warp or throw got to anything, it was already long dead.  Which left my score pretty much non-existant.  I quickly realized that my job was to be reviving turians, stassising Phantoms, and doing the objectives (the ghosts where willing to, but since I wasn't doing much damage anyways, we agreed that for the most part the devices (all 12 of them...) where my business, and they would cover me).  I was outscored horrifically, but I didn't feel that I was caried, because I knew that if some of them where to get insta-killed, I could still hold my own against the enemy.  Their deaths probably wouldn't spell the end of the match.

I doubt he realizes that if everyone cared about N7 like he did he would be all the way at the bottom. Most people just realize that it doesnt mean anything sooner than others. Played a few gold/platinums with a 40k N7 player the other day that would have been first on ps3 if he didn't quit for half a year.

I'm personally totally ok with someone scoring very low if they are helping the team.. when I first started playing the Volus Adept my scores were paltry but you're DAMN sure that no one on my team died, and if they did it was because they went Rambo vs a pack of LT's. IMO the objective in ME3 MP is to extract, that is it.. if I'm pugging and we extract within a acceptable time for gold pugs (25-35 mins) with minimal or no deaths and someone has a low score, I'll ready up every time after the match
