That's not necessarily true. Oftentimes, my Black Widow SI will get the gold kill medal and only bronze/silver assist medal because whatever I start killing, I KILL. Meaning; that normally things aren't alive in my scope long enough for others to get the kill and have my contribution count as an assist.

I was playing very badassfully last night as a Slayer and the guy in 2nd more than doubled my score of 52,000.

It was humiliating just how much I lost.

That's not so bad.  The last time I played with FasterFTL, in the first of two games, I came in second with 100K points and he doubled my score with more than 200K points.   No ... he didn't go on a missle rampage in wave 11.  (He did however pull out the missles in wave 11 of the second game to just edge me out by a couple of thousand points.  )

Relax, OP. Guy who messaged you was an idiot. Move on.

One time in SSF4, I played a player match with someone and midway through the first round, I realized that he had no idea what blocking or countering a grab was. So I had fun with it. Did nothing but block then grab. I figured he'd eventually figure it out and try something else, but nope! So I won. Grabs only.

He then invited me to a party and called me a scrub for only using grabs, and that "this is STREET FIGHTER, not DEFENSIVE FIGHTER". I lost it. I never knew that such ignorance of game mechanics was present in a competitive fighter.

Point is, don't listen to people online unless they seem intelligent. If they don't, just laugh and share the story on a forum later.

Who actually would send a message to someone for poor play? The only hate messages ive ever gotten were people whining about me stealing their kills.

Should be a point of pride that you carried your team to some credits.

Not aways.  It could be simply being outclassed.  I've had games where almost every thing I've tried to kill was taken out almost as soon as I've shot at it (mainly on my 2nd account) sometimes just happens 



FTFTL was Drellguard w Wraith, I was Havoc w Phaeston.  The guy in third place (QFI w Krysae) was there from the beginning the forth place one (Novaguard w Revenant:o) joined in wave three/four I think.  And yes missiles were used but not excessively.

i dont think ive ever scored less than 40k in a gold game where i was present for all 11 waves, even when ive been ultra scrubby (which happens more often than not).

Ive never sent anyone a message to condemn anyone, nor received a message condemning me.

How long does it take you to press a key? You could have used a consumable but didn't, therefore you were carried.

Bull Crap flag waved at full mast here. There are plenty of times the gel or ops packs do not work when the key is pressed.

I think the kit you use/how you kill things also affects the amount of points earned. For example, if I use the TGI and drill a Brute with the harrier, I'll only earn somewhere between 1000-2000 points. But if I use my Human Adept and hit with a few combos first, I'll earn 2000-3000 points for the kill. 

Not sure if this is 100% scientifically proven, but it's an observation I've made over the last few weeks trying out different kits

N7 rank is definitely important. One time I was at a job interview and at the end, the guy asked "what is your N7 rank in the multiplayer component of the video game, Mass Effect 3?". Upon answering, I was told I was not qualified for the job and asked to leave.

On-topic part of my post: I usually consider 50 or 60k in score to be my threshold in gold for pugs. If they can't score over 30k, I politely ask them to leave and find a difficulty level they would be more suited for.

I don't mind the score of other players. What I care about with PuGs is how often I pick them up and if they try to do objectives they're needed for (hacks, escorts).

As some others put it though, you can just 'feel' if you're carrying someone. It isn't just score, nor is it just how often they go down or do objectives, it is just a thing that you 'know'.
