I myself am really, really, reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally opposed to the idea of a multiplayer being in DA, it could mess it up for me and quite a high number of DA fans in a number of different ways.
I really don't want a multiplayer that you HAVE to play in order to level up your Inquisition or get an exclusive ending or something else story related, because ten you have no choice whether you want to play it or not.
I know you'll probably say "but it could be super fun!" but what about the people with poop internet connections?
The people who have to limit time on the internet?
The people who don't have internet full stop?
You'll either lose fans by adding online or lose none by not adding it.
You decide, I think it'd be far better to not include it.
Don't you?

P.S
If Bioware's read this PLEEEEEEEEASE please please please do NOT add Multiplayer/Coop.

Thanks. :)

Multiplayer would take up resources that then won't go to making the absolute best single player experience. I am also opposed.

Personally I dont like the idea of the MP either but if they do put it in DAI I hope it stays faaar far away from the SP or make it as a DLC or something not everyone wants to play multiplayer

where is this high number of DA fans opposed to mp?

BSN is a minority of DA fans and even then im skeptical a few of them are just bad trolls.

Majority of fans of the DA series i know aint against MP far from it they'd embrace it, what they dont want is it effecting SP and the one's that are left couldnt care if there was MP or not

As long as it's not necessary in order to get the best ending, specific gear, or some other content, then I don't care.

I would welcome MP to DA actually.

Now obviously this doesn't mean that I would be totally cool with MP being required to get the best ending, or for the game to become an MMO; those things are to be avoided like the plague.

But I feel that MP could provide an avenue to enjoy the game with friends, and allow players to experience the game in ways that would be impossible or at least impractical from a SP perspective.

For example, I would like to possibly play as a Werewolf, or Awakened; SP would suffer trying to include narrative reasons why I could play as those things, but in MP the possibility is much better since story wouldn't (necessarily) be an issue.

That's just my take on it anyway, I realize that MP is a touchy subject for some players, but I personally would be MORE excited for DA:I if it had MP.

Please tell me why you think what I said is garbage? I mean, I could just say 'no, it's not' but I actually learned how to hold a productive conversation.

If it affects single player then yes I oppose it.

If it's standalone than I don't care.

Stated where?

And even so, the money has to come from somewhere. If there's two separate budgets, that still means either budget would probably be larger if the other didn't exist.
And 'resources' is more than just budget. It's also time spent, and skilled people spending that time. You have to divide your team, or hire new people (who you need to find first, and which also draws from your budget) to do all the extra work required to build a multiplayer or co-op mode. Either it is going to feel tacked on, or it WILL mean the single player suffers.

Also,

How the hell is the BSN a minority of DA fans, but the fans you personally know aren't? Unless you can somehow convince me you know thousands upon thousands of DA fans personally, I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to rethink your statement there.

Idk...I was opposed to MP in ME, but MP turned out to be one of the best things about ME3. But then again, most of ME3 was fail for me, which hopefully won't be the case with DA:I.

ME3 multiplayer was the best part of the game. Just saying. I was against mp in ME too, but ME3 somewhat changed my mind.

See my earlier comment about one mode draining resources from the other.

Look in the DAI forums its posted by developers themselves that a separate budget would be had for MP if it was even included to begin with, nothing from the SP budget would be touched and sepearte time resources etc etc would be had for the MP development again not touching what has been set aside for SP to begin with

where in my statement do i say the fans I KNOW are the majority?

Even a cursory search of this board would turn up extremely lengthy posts by Bioware employees explaining why this isn't the case.

Being that it would not do that. Heck, they extended time to the project just to add to the sp. You can't say mp is taking anything away with that.

You don't know how it works. The mp is being done by another team then the main one. Resources, people and time is planned and arrangened for everything starts. The sp is going to get less just because mp is there as well. There's a seacond team seperat from the sp team doing the mp. If it's just one team doing both them you can say it's an issue.

I don't want Multiplayer at all. It just doesn't fit with a game like Dragon Age. I'd rather they take whatever money it would cost to make multiplayer and use it to make a better singleplayer experience.

I don't know if it was stated somewhere in this forum, but the BioWare devs have said a number of times before in other forums (Dragon Age:Origin for one) that separate teams mean separate budgets as well as people. If they're not being used for the specific purpose for which they're created (multiplayer, DLC, or whatever), it does not mean that these resources would go to making the single player experience. Having multiplayer (in this particular case) would not take resources away from single player. Development doesn't work that way. I don't have links (and I'm not going to waste my time trying to find them), but I'm pretty sure you can dig them up with a bit of searching.

The fact the Bulder's gate had it mean it can fit well. It's not that it does not fit, it's that you just don't want it.

The awnser is simple. If it's there and you don't like the mp....Don't play the mp.
