I see all the threads bout people awaiting ME2 and this massive game. I am still trying to play through ME1. Barely just started it in fact lol, just left the Citadel. I hope this scope and the universe in this game is grand with an amazing story, thats what DOA turned out to be and i hope the mass effect is just as large.

I'd leave this specific forum if I were you until you finish ME1. Too many ME1 spoilers float around in here.

I think my first playthrough was the best. I was going to compare both games, but it is best that you just play it. :)

Enjoy your game. :)

lol Ive used this internet name since i was 9 yrs old. Everyone that plays MMO's, or video game forums or anime community websites knows me as link. The name came from my favorite zelda franchise. Anyways the name just stuck with me and it became my user name in almost every forum and website on the web. Also no one on the internet has my name. Its exclusively mine and mine only.

Yeah i don't want spoilers i just wanted to see the reactions to what people say bout the differences between ME1 and ME2. I personally thought the graphics in ME1 was just so impressive, i can't imagine better visuals and effects then that what ME1 had.

It is all what you hope. But just get out of here before you finish the game the first time. Don't let your experience be ruined by spoilers.

Don't feel out of place, you've got PLENTY of time to finish and complete the game before ME2 comes out.

Yeah, OP - don't hang around. But come back once you've finished ME1. Don't rush either. ME2 will still be there once you're done with the first game. Take your time and luxuriate in the grandeur.

Nah man don't feel out of place welcome to the community. Just take your time and enjoy the game, completing the game faster than someone else doesn't matter and can actually hinder the play experience.

Take your time enjoy the game then if you want get the sequel.

I am more of a hardcore gamer my self, i really don't play games to rush them, i explore everything in all its glory, visuallize the amazing textures and graphics in games and make sure everything is completed to perfection before i am satisfied. Some people would call this nuts but when i first got to the citadel it took me roughly 20 hrs to explore the whole thing and do all the side quests before moving onto the main story line. These are kind of games i like though. Very open ended, lots of content to explore that will just keep you busy for hrs. This is truly worth the 60 or 100 dollars to spend for a game.

Off topic: I had 550 hrs in Final Fantasy X, yes thats extreme but thats the way i am and that was a long time ago so i had alot of free time on my hands :P

Yeh, I can see, from your judgement of the graphics, that you've been playing a lot of MMO's recently.

ME's graphic was decent at the time it was released. Not in the top class tho. ME2 will be better obviously, good enough to present all the big scenes and crazy moments. But it's no where near the best anymore. Unreal3 has started to show its age. Nevertheless, ME2 will have decent graphics, too and will be quite visually enjoyable due to some awsome animation bioware did.

Link9 I know exactly where you're coming from as a completionist gamer. The first character I created has over 200 hours logged. I've tried to get every eventuality achieved. And trust me, there are a lot of them. So welcome to the community, and enjoy your experience playing ME1. And just to ask, what type of character are you playing (background and class).

Umm currently right now im a soldier with Spacing for my morality decision. So i am following a pure Paragon path through out the game and my background is a War Hero. Yeah i suck. I look around so many shops with so many amazing gear and weapons that i can't get right now. Some of the missions are pretty difficult, i am doing ok through out the main storyline but some of the side missions i died multiple times. I am not really used to Shooter type games so it will take some getting used to. Fallout 3 was easier cause you can pause the action, this is real time. But i love the challenge. I will take a challenge over an easy game anyday. The part thats hard for me is being able to remember each Position action for the squad mates, like Up, down, left, and right. Some times i get confused which ones are which and i end up sending my squad mates out to a turret only to get blasted away, haha!

Another questions i had to remember the title of this topic in order to find it again. Is there a way to search forum topics by user name?

Alright i figured it out, thanks! Oh and i have the game for the 360. I know it was a mistake to get dragon age for the 360 cause clearly the PC version is far superior in every way but i think the 360 version for mass effect is bout the same for the pc version.

Btw ya all can add me to friends if you want. I like forum communities.

Yeah welcome to the boards :) Also if you really want to do EVERYTHING possible in ME 1 so you are set and ready for ME 2. take a look at the guides, walkthroughs, tips and other information on www.masseffect.wikia.com If you didnt know that is and of course that site have spoilers ahoy, obviously. But sacrificing a little to get the greatest, most personal playthrough(s) is wort it IMO :P

You can easily beat it before ME2 comes out. Probably at least twice.

Well that depends on the spare time having, or? Cause there only one playthorugh that I nailed in about 36 hours while the others are far above 50 hours, thanks to "just have to compete collector/UNC quests"

I suggest doing most of the sidequests, and making 2 playthroughs. For the second playthrough, you should make the oposite decisions your first character made, so you'll be able to get the most out of ME2.

and 3 playthroughs for all possible ally achievements. stick with 2 ALL the way, which may mean sacrificing the personal quests of a certain two aliens by having them with you.

I actually have the strategy guide and im getting the strategy guide for ME2 as well. I do like the layout of the guide for the first game so im hoping the 2nd game is just as good. How ever i hate the dragon age guides, they missed out on alot of content and the walkthrough sections are horrible lol. You think there is anything extra that would be in online guides that the prima's official guides would not have?
