- For Windows XP
Click Start, Run and type CMD.EXE
Type this command and press Enter:
net stop winmgmt
Using Windows Explorer, rename the folder %windir%\\System32\\Wbem\\Repository. (For example, %windir%\\System32\\Wbem\\Repository_bad). %windir% represents the path to the Windows directory, which is typically C:\\Windows.
Switch to Command Prompt window, and type the following and press ENTER after each line:
net start winmgmt
EXIT
To re-register the WMI components, run the following commands at the command prompt:
cd /d %windir%\\system32\\wbem
for %i in (*.dll) do RegSvr32 -s %i
for %i in (*.exe) do %i /RegServer

Is this a non-technical FAQ? If not, could I suggest linking to the Steam/Long File Name workarounds? I'm having trouble getting it talking to my database, but the long filename bug in SQL was a major breaking point for me, and I assume all Steam users.

I've downloaded the toolset twice now and both times I've had a corrupt version. It gives me this error
"Installer integrity check has failed. Common causes include incomplete download and damaged media. Contact the installers author to obtain a new copy.
More information at:
http://nsis.sf.net/NSIS_Error"
I did so and to no prevail I'm in the same sticky mess.
Just curious to see if 2 heads is better then one or in this case a couple dozen I hope.

That error is from a bad download. The installer does a checksum on itself before beginning. If the checksum fails, you get this error. Sometimes there is a bad mirror, but they eventually get sorted out. It has been a couple of days since your post. You should try dowloading it again, it should have resolved itself. If not, send me an email and I can give you another option.BloodGodxXx wrote...
Nice post, now im curious if anyone can help me with my problem. I tryed doing a forum search but the search method's broke and will not produce anything.

Yes. I've personally install the game and toolset on two computers.
That's excellent to know! I suppose there's no way to run the game without the disk....but she's doesn't so much wanna play the game on her computer as she wants to add stuff to it. so..yay!

Did you point out to them how awful the Toolset is by any chance? The original Neverwinter Nights had a better toolset, 10 years ago. I'm boycotting it to the point I uninstalled it. I imagine if I worked on it full time for a few months I might be able to learn how to do the things I might want to do, but I have no intention spending more time on a toolset than I do in the game itself. Bioware, two thumbs down on the bleh toolset! You should know better by now. And what's up with using a freaking relational database with the toolset? Was that just to make things un-necessarily complicated or what? You get an extra thumbs-down for being deliberately obtuse!
PS-I didn't read your tutorial. I appreciate you making the effort but this toolset cannot be salvaged in my opinion. Bioware needs to ship a better one, but they obviously won't. In future maybe they should consider just not shipping a toolset. If they expose the data files I'm sure people can figure out how to do things themselves.

12: Can I install the Toolset on multiple computers?
Yes.
technically this should be 'No' as it would require the game itself to be installed on multiple PCs which is/might be a violation of the EULA correct?

If it has not already been
covered. Using the "Hide Folders" flag in the palette
window can sometimes cause significant toolset lag (bordering on the
unusable) on certain systems (like mine). I am unsure how it happens
but I was stuck for two weeks until I offhandedly deselected it when
troubleshooting this anomaly for the ump dozenth time.
Hope
this helps someone out who was as frustrated as myself.
Be
safe.
