I was trying to use the toolset for the first time and I'm getting a black box in the area where I should be able to edit anything. I was trying to do a head morph to fix up some of my janky looki9ng PCs, a fiarly simple thing to get started, but I can't see any heads at all, not even the grid that I see in all the tutorials, does anyone know what is going on?

I was considering playing around with the toolset for my own amusement, and doing something in a slightly more recent time period. There would be some similarities with the game's environmental assets in this time period, but the characters would need all new clothing and mostly new weapons. I have some programming background, but no real art asset background. (I made some simple 3D models for a lame game I made for school more than half a decade ago)



Should I even bother learning how to use the toolset if this is what I want to do? After doing a little research it seems like what i want to do might involve quite a bit of work.

When I use russian language in dialogies after I saved them they became !!!???? Why they did? I don't inderstand

i want to give an NPC in the toolset the lying on floor wounded appearence, and i want it to be a conversation. can anybody tell me how to do this?

Loading a save game causes the toolset to run out of memory. There is a workaround (worked for me, anyway) as long as you have a 64-bit OS and 4GB+ of memory.

Search for the error message. "Out of memory" I believe. Leads you to a post with a link to a utility called CFF Explorer, with which you can set a property of the toolset to go past the 2 GB boundary found within it.

It's insane that merely loading a save game causes the toolset memory usage to go to over 3 freaking Gig of system memory, but it does!

By using CFF Explorer to set the toolset exe file, it allows a load of the save.

I was wondering, cause I could not find good enough clarification in the readme files: what is the copyright issues involved when using toolsets in you art? Regardless of the toolset, be it for NWN, NWN2, Dragon Age etc...is one allowed to build a scene in the toolset (from scratch, not using someone elses), take a screenshot of this, modify it in photoshop (add effects, color correction, etc etc.) and then either



a. use this picture (at all), or

b. sell this picture (at all).



Essentially, can one use the toolsets simply for creative purposes and not to specifically add any content to the game?



Any help regarding this would be much appreciated.

Try Beerfish's Excel Utilities (specifically the DAAnimationsListingv3xls.xls file) and/or the wiki's Animation list.

We have direct links (and links to the mirrored copy on BioWare's CDN) to the Toolset and associated resources on the Community:Toolset_source_files page in the wiki.
 
Note the only thing we don't have there is the correct version of python used by the light mapper.
