not sure if theres been a topic on this before, i tried looking all over google, but the last time i played the original ME through instead of picking either Anderson or Udina as humanity's representative on the council i picked the option of "letting the politicians decide" or something along the lines of that...so my question is who will be the concilor in ME2? will it just go to udina because hes actually a politician?

i mean i didnt really know who to choose because i went renegade and even though i HATED udina, i didnt want to pick anderson because he seemed to paragon-y and wasnt as obsessed with humanity being powerful as udina was

Yeah, probably. The Council is odd. It's neither democratic nor an actual government. It's like the UN. Who cares if you appointed someone, considering that none of them were delegated by democratic means anyway? Meh.

Takes one to know one sort of thing. LOL.

Kinda felt like this on my Renegade playthrough. That is, until I purposely sacrificed the Council. In the conversation I had at the end of the game, I felt like I was in the middle of some big conspiracy meeting and Udina was the one who supported my agenda. Even though I'd been butting heads with him the entire playthrough (even more so than my Paragon playthrough) it just felt like the decision this Shepard would make.

I think that will only be when you start a completely new Shep. Otherwise, they'll just keep the decision you made.

well shep said he'd leave it up to the politicians to decide so im sure theres some sort of default councilor. my best guess is if you had the renegade ending theyll go with udina since he was pushing for humanitys power and if you had paragon itll default to anderson since hes the nice guy
