If you take out superiority, then that still leaves the "separate but equal" folks.

That was put in place because of racism, it is not racist within itself. The system was only removed because of how they implemented it, which was not equal. It also violated the consititution. Racism hardly played a role in the Supreme Cout's choice to revoke it.

Well that is why i said that it was not racist per se. 

A system that institutionalizes racism is in fact racist.

I don't see how its possible to not have a mostly racist galaxy in Mass Effect. You basically have nation parrallels with the alien civilizations, except that they are nations of literally different species that are the evolutionary product of different environments. The races are mostly separate in their own colonies except for places like the Omega, Citadel, and Purgatory.

Can't expect racism to not be there in that environment, even if it just in the form of discrimination by mistrust.

Yes, but when Ash is reassigned to the Normandy, you haven't met Tali yet 

In any case, and to make sure my statement is not misunderstood, the quarians and pretty much everyone else have outdated info on the geth, since all ships going to the Perseus Veil to try to re-establish contact are destroyed (codex), and they haven't ventured into other areas of space for centuries. 

As for geth tactics, combat unit types or fighting styles, it would have been great to have some kind of debriefing on what she saw (I suppose it happens off-screen and with actual Alliance Intel people, not with whatever the comic book showed); the sidequest related to serviceman Nirali Bhatia's corpse and the intent to keep her body for research also shows that the different species are bracing for a major offensive by a mostly unknown enemy.

Of course, once you meet Tali and learn she has encountered and fought geth, she also becomes a useful member of the crew.

Pretty much. Besides there's nothing she can offer Shepard about the Geth that he doesn't gain himself while fighting them on Eden Prime.
