A thread should probably be pinned to the top of the ME3 forum, though.

Indeed, they need to announce a title so they can pin a name to the forum since we know it won't be Mass Effect 4.Sanunes wrote...
They only added the Dragon Age: Inquisition forum when they announced it to us, I don't expect anything different for the next Mass Effect game.
Personally, I see two likely settings. One is the period of humanity's rise but before the first Mass Effect game. That could be interesting and they wouldn't have to bother with previous choices interfering.
The other would be the two year gap that Shepard was being put back together in the Lazarus Project. They could have you choose a handful of big things at the beginning, like who's the human Councilor and what happened to the Council. Smaller choices needn't be bothered with. Its a big galaxy, there's no need to run into the Virmire Survivor or Wrex.

First Contact War would be interesting however the only interesting aliens would have to be enemy turians.
Garrus and his team running a "cleaning service" on Omega. More personal but still important and can create deep characters in his team. Only issue is that Bioware might have trouble making the narrative interesting as we've seen Omega and we know what happens but I think they can pull it off. Besides Garrus is my favorite character.
Rachni Wars. A species thats really only touched on compared to every other species and you get to see the Galaxy without humans and therefore forcing you to see things from a non-human perspective. Interesting to know more as well
Krogan Rebellion. Really whats above except that we know the Krogan well.
Quarian Exile. Geth are Awesome. I think you could weave a lot of drama with different political opinions on how to deal with the geth.
Of course with any of these we already know the ultimate result but could still make them awesome. I most want though to play as another species (preferably turian) or be able to choose which species to play because honestly I found the human characters the least interesting (though still interesting). Aliens are just more exotic and awesome because I see humans every day.

A BioWare Rumors forum, perhaps?
It's silly to to flood the ME3 forum with ME"4" threads. Even the ME forum is more logical.

I really doubt Bioware would make a game without humans present. For starters it makes writing harder when you must make everything alien and avoid human culture references, which were so much fun in the previous games. Also, it'd be harder to market a game without humans. I could plausibly see a game that offered the option of playing as a Turian or some such alongside humans, but not exclusivelyfirehazard96 wrote...

As for the Garrus idea, from what I've heard they still want to make a game that let's us build the protagonist, so playing as an established character isn't likely.

good points but tbh I don't see how including humans assists. I can imagine that it might buy I can't think of how. I don't play ME for the human touch though (although i will admit it is cool to see how humanity evolves and maybe that's why humans should be involved).
It may have been unfounded but I heard Garrus 'may' be included. Anyway above is what i want not what I expect. It is likely to be something we haven't heard of yet. Although the First Contact War does fit your criteria. Fingers crossed.
On a sidenote I think it's funny that what humans consider a war, turians consider an 'incident'

Humans are easier for people to relate to, especially those unfamiliar with ME. Show a trailer with only a bunch of aliens in suits or with scales and it will attract less interest. ME has always been about the human perspective of the galaxy when you think about it.firehazard96 wrote...

They threw out a few spitball ideas for SpinOffs a while ago. They mentioned Garrus amongst others like Aria as interesting stories to explore, but it was really just throwing up ideas. Personally, I wouldn't be interested in playing an ME that didn't let me create my character to an extent.

Make new ME about Asari, show a trailer with blue boobies, problem solved.Lord Aesir wrote...

It's set during Advent of Humanity (2160's to 2180). At least I hope it will, since that is the only reasonable setting for this game.
While it might make sense, to do one it doesn't necessarily have to be the next game and again honestly there so so much more to Mass Effect than the Reapers that there should definitely be a sequal in the present or near future of the setting left behind in ME3.

A forum this early could be bad however as there is the possibility of people mis-interpreting speculation as fact down the road and then complaining when the piece of information they thought was true is not in it. This has happenned in the past.
