Because the alternative is recharge speed, and I never take recharge speed evos on any power.

Take it on Dark Sphere.

It's better on Overload too. Enemies take less damage laying on the ground after Neural Shock knocks them down. Also it makes it much harder to hit the head, and that's one of the best things about Overload... Easy headshots. There's also the matter of spamming it vs boss barriers/shields faster so AP/Warp/Incendiary ammo can get to work faster.

Good ole' Air Quotes turned me on to that idea.

Why would I do that when I almost never detonate Dark Sphere?

Because the other evo is bugged. I never detonate it either.

doesn't the +50% damage multiplier vs armor apply to your inc ammo as well? (sorry for my english)

if you warp + inc ammo that evo is needed

I don't believe the DOT from Incendiary ammo is affected by armor mitigation. I could be wrong though... Where's Cinnamon when you need him?

That is an absolute stance and, as all absolutes, is pretty stupid. If you don't take recharge speeds because the other choice is always very good in your eyes then it's ok, but if you do that on principle because you think recharge speeds are worthless then you might want to think about it again, and more deeply.

Pierce evo is actually 75% extra additive warp damage against Armor and 100% extra additive warp damage against Barriers as opposed to recharge speed.

Warp already does 150% damage against Armor and 200% damage against Barriers by default so Pierce 50% means 75% and 100% damage against Armor and Barriers respectively.

Pierce Evo is actually better than most people think it is.

This has been the best argument so far IMO... For Raw damage vs Barriers/Armor. The 200% argument is good too... But I'm not talking about characters with fast recharge speeds carrying light weapons. I'm more concerned with medium/heavy weapon carriers... As stated in the OP.

It does not. However, as sanbakko pointed out, it does benefit from the +50% damage against barriers/armor, and quite a lot actually.

Yes... I can understand that it makes the cheese more effective. I very rarely cheese though... Even on Platinum.

Yeah I was simply providing information. I don't cheese much either, only when I'd use incendiary if I didn't know about the glitch, and don't want to change my playstile according to it.

If you were running a turian or human sentinel with a claymore it may make sense
but i think the cooldown would have to be under 100%

6A:

Armor DR mitigation increases from 25% to 50%

6B:

Warp cooldown decreases by 0.33s

It should be said that I don't always slap Lv. IV ammo and Lv. III equipment on my characters, especially when playing gold. So I personally prefer 6A.

You posted at 200% recharge speed to make your point... Which would make 6b a poor choice. I don't know how to work that Kalence thing (or the old one for that matter)... But I imagine with that the heavier the weapon, the more of a difference it makes.

For instance, Claymore on the Krogan Shaman, with Omni Blade. (who also has the Barrier recharge speed penalty)
Crusader on the Turian Sentinel
Harrier on the Batarian Adept
Etc.

You seem to be intentionally misreading my comments. I said that 6B on a kit that has low cooldowns to begin with is as redundant as always going for +200% cooldown at the expense of damage. The (incomplete) build I posted was at +150%, which results in 6B giving a 0.33s faster Warp cooldown. I said before that I can understand going for 6B when using heavy weapons (like a Claymore).

Well... If I did it wasn't intentional. I appreciate a good bouncing of ideas... I made the thread hoping for responses like yours.

I find that Recharge speed is useless but it's my opinion and doesn't affect you or the way you play in any form, so I don't understand the problem :]

Recharge-evos are pretty useless on most powers. That's why I don't bother, a split-sec difference is no difference (at least not to me)

Pierce allows you to use mod/ammo slots for other things, like Incendiary Ammo, Clip mods or Extended Barrels.

For example: Pierce + Extended Barrel on the Hurricane is more DPS against Armor than the SMG HVB, and is better against Shields/Barriers too.

I entered your Omni-Blade Claymore Krodept build into Kalence earlier and in that case 6B does give a ~2 second faster cooldown (don't quote me on this, kalence sucks when it comes to powers influencing each other). It's a matter of preference, really. I like to use light loadouts on biotic kits, so 6A always makes more sense for me.

But then you miss out on all the double/triple hit goodness vs Praetorians, Ravagers, Scions, Banshees, Atlases, etc. without the penetration afforded by piercing mods. Correct?
