Check my joined date. Because I had only been playing the MP for a month before then and even then not very seriously. I've actually had the game for longer, but I never really noticed what was going on in MP back then. It's not like every noob finds his way on to BSN after a day!modok8 wrote...

When did you buy the game?
because the stuff you are looking for happened for an entire year after release

I've been here for a short time, some months after development of the game had stopped. It was painfully obvious to me (and should be to everyone with a brain) that no matter how much we would ask for new content, bioware were not going to move resources back to ME3.But N7 day was supposed to be different. It was supposed to be the day when something unique happened that would reward the loyalty of the players who still play the game. But instead, we had the "opportunity" to play with devs, even though actually playing with one seemed like a one in a million chance. So it woud seem that ME3MP is destined to go out not with a bang, but a whimper.
Now I think most of us agree that bioware should be thanked for all their hard work in the past and for bringing us the game in the first place. But judging by how many people care about this game and still play on it, I feel that not enough effort was put into N7 day and it unsurprisingly ended a disappointment.
So my question is, why did bioware feel the need to practically sweep the ME3MP community under the rug? Surely, this was your last big opportunity to give this game the sendoff it deserves and that the community that has been loyal all this time get something special that would have made N7 day worthwhile...<_<
Their send off was the Citadel DLC. And that was a success.
N7 Day simply reminds us Mass Effect is not dead and the new installment is still coming. They are trying to keep the community alive.
All games have their cycles. This one has come to an end, at least we don't actually have to deal with a space child, and we don't have to deal with the harvest in the next cycle in real life.
Right? RIGHT?

Remember that BioWare works under EA and EA doesn't like to spend money, they like to obtain money.
And one way of making money is to keep customers as repeats.
I call missed opportunity.
The video, blog post and devs playing (apparently) were nice, but more promotion would have been good.
No I don't mean free stuff even:
- where was the rumoured merchandise discounts and offers?
I had to go hunting, and it's there but not well promoted : http://www.biowarestore.com/
- splash screen on start up?
I kept saying to PUGs "Happy N7 Day", and got silence or "da fcuk?" back.
- play with a Bioware employee?
In keeping with promotion, some work hours could have been given up, so ex/current Bioware didn't have to use their own time. That's just marketing, and is factored into projects, much like training sick days etc. also would have enabled less Egmont centric randomness.
- free stuff?
I expected nothing, and with a maxed manifest don't really care, but a bone would have been nice to those with the RNG mountain to climb.
Just felt like more could have been done to keep goodwill, and show commitment to the Fanbase.
Someone made a very good video to explain why EA doesn't have to do shit to obtain repeat customers. I really wish I could find it.
You don't even need to find it. It is because people buy video games no matter how good or how bad they are based simply on the NAME+a roman numeral

I don't have Fifa 14 yet and don't plan on getting it. This despite the fact I'm obssessed with football and Fifa has been my go to footie game since the fall of Pro Evo. Why, because I've had enough of playing two glitch filled games in the series in a row, so I don't trust them anymore.prostheticlimbs wrote...

Oh, and they didn't have to do anything this year, but they did. In the words of every Batarian, "Stop whining!"
I like this game too much to not at the very least seek an explanation as to why Bioware stopped development so early and continue to take a back seat.
My friend it's because EA doesn't care about anyhting or anyone very simple.
This is what EA thinks of ME3 and all of us.

Yeah, I had a lot of fun playing before with friends and I'm glad you enjoyed N7 day. But what I want to know is why Bioware didn't take advantage of that feel good factor and do something that involved the game. Hell, I would have settled for a patch to fix some of the bugs.Sketfish wrote...
David, I agree that we have been left with a buggy game, but them adding fan art to the video and user created banners to the game a while back, were both fantastic gestures to the fan base. It would be cool if they fixed some of the bugs, but this game went way beyond being just a game for some of us and got people like me who don't really socialise online, to meet some of the Coolest people on our respective platforms. For me N7 day and the week leading up to it were about getting together with those people and just having fun regardless of what BW did or didn't do. It was a success to me...
Yea a software patch at the very least would have been great, but with business practices like this that will never happen.

I don't understand what the point of N7 day was supposed to be. No new content, nothing actually happened.
Then you weren't paying the slightest attention.
There were 8 Bioware employees playing on xbox, that's it.
Your point is...?
I don't understand why there was so much hype and hundreds of threads about N7 day.
I counted about 7 or 8. Maybe take a math class?
All I'm hearing is "OMG OMG I played with a dev, omg thank you so much Bioware I love you, you guys are so amazing, wow I am so grateful to have had the chance to play with one of your employees.
I haven't seen anyone say that in that way, they've been quite gracious, those that appreciated it. The whiners have been pretty petty and childish, though. Like you.
It's really amazing how you guys assigned 8 of your employees to play with us, it means so much to us as fans, such a kind gesture, this was the greatest day of our lives, THANK YOU SO MUCH BIOWARE". That's all I'm hearing from others, and it makes no sense.
That's because you're not smart enough to understand what you are reading when you read it.
You need to go back to school. Really badly. My best guess is that you should aim for about Grade 9, which would appear to be where you left off.
Incidentally, those of us that are happy about it are still happy about it, so your pathetic troll attempt has failed/will fail utterly, just like every other time.

Here are the facts:
We did not receive any new content (no new maps, no new characters, no new weapons).
We did not get any new banners or challenges.
We did not receive any bug/glitch fixes.
We did not get any announcements.
We did not get any new content of any sort. I feel like I have to repeat this point.
All that happened was that Bioware assigned 8 employees to play with a few fans on the day. Which is...less than nothing. And a few fanboys all chimed in with their typical responses: "OMG thank you so much Bioware! You're such an amazing company, you guys are so amazing, I love you guys. Thank you so much Bioware for this wonderful opportunity! I am so happy and thankful! Thank you Bioware!".
So please tell me, what exactly are you happy about? I'm obviously missing something.

David, as much as I like you, this whole thing reeks of "gamer entitlement". Everything you wanted to see happen was done on a weekly basis for twelve months after the game was released. It was not BioWare's decision to cut support as early as they did. They are not in a position where they can resume work on this game, because A, they are currently working on three (3) new games (DA:I, ME4, and an un-named IP); and B, these things cost money that EA was unwilling to provide for something they see as an arbitrary date. I honestly think you're whining just to whine, and BSN has (and will continue to provide) the attention that this thread was clearly meant to garner. Cut this "we deserve more" crap, stop being a stupid, and at least respect the fact that they took time out of their busy schedules to do something for a game which has been completely unsupported for almost seven months now.
And Kook is being an idiotic troll again, nothing new there.

People weren't thanking Bioware for a great N7 day, they thanked them for the whole game experience in general. Shouldn't you thank Bioware for giving you the opportunity to constantly brag about being #2 in N7 rank on consoles? Or do you completely lack appreciation for something that you've realistically devoted an insane amount of time to? It kind of sounds like you're an entitled, whiny ****.XFG-65 wrote...

It's been over a year since the game's release. They weren't going to pull people out of other projects to create new content for an old game when it won't make them money. If that was their policy, they never could have kept their doors open this long, and I doubt we'd even have a Mass Effect 3 to play.

I couldn't participate this year, but honestly I'm not sure what some people were expecting?
I'm just happy they did anything at all, I doubt a lot of other game developers do the same thing.
I also had fun putting all my N7 gear on and seeing quite a few others wearing all their stuff. It's just nice knowing that even though the game was released what was it a year or two ago? They're trying to keep interest until ME4 is out. At least the franchise didn't just drop off the face of the earth.
Of course these are just my thoughts, you are entitled to feel however you do.

Well, to be fair, I knew this was an argument I would never win on a Mass Effect fansite. But ask anyone from any other walk of life and they would understand the argument I was making. I just thought it was something worth discussing, seen as how it seemed like any other day to me and A LOT of other people. Maybe it is gamer entitlement, I'm not sure... You would have to answer, is N7 day a bioware creation or a fan creation? I genuinely don't know. Because if it was a Bioware creation, then it's not unreasonable to expect something more then what we got. Why make a day just to use it when it suits your company? (rhetorical, because I know the probable answer... I feel like I need to point this out now...)FatherOfPearl wrote...

In the end of the day, I couldn't care less about playing with devs. While I thank Bioware for their initial efforts on MP, the fact is the end result is unfinished and lazy. I paid money for the game and although the DLC for MP is free, they were paid for by other gamers with real money in what we "lovingly" refer to as the troll store. So I AM entitled to an opinion. And no amount of people being happy or telling me I'm being "stupid" or wrong will change that. It's just a shame more people won't open their eyes. N7 day was a success because of the people that care about this game; the fans. No more, no less...
Also, XFG made some valid points. I don't know why everytime he posts, it's automatically a troll. I know people who feel the way he does about N7 day, so he's not the only one. Hell, even I agree with some of the points he made. If you don't like him, that's fine. But why call him a troll when he makes a valid statement, whether or not you agree it is true? There's not even a mention of his N7, so you can tell he's not trolling...
