So... N7 day... Was it a success or a missed opportunity?

Really liked the "Thank you" video and small glimpse into ME4 though.

You want to know what MP's big send off was? Lodestar. If you missed it, tough ****. I guess you aren't as "loyal" as you feel you should be rewarded for.
Whatever. I'm out of here, nerds.

LOL! Don't let the door hit your ass on the way out. I don't know about other people, but I expected nothing and got nothing. End of story.Tokenusername wrote...
I'm tired of this complete bull****. N7 day did not even exist until last year. There are no obligations to it and no requirements from anyone. It was a little made-up holiday that Bioware made to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the series. It's not a day for Bioware to cater to the fans of the multiplayer. People give tons of **** about how Bioware dropped support "too soon", but do you know how much support we got within a single year? 49 balance changes, at least 5 patches (it's not entirely clear since some platforms had more patches than other), 5 DLCs, 40 new kits, 21 new weapons, 5 promotional weapons, free access to 2 other promotional items, 17 new weapon mods, 3 new ammo amps, 2 new armor amps, 2 new weapon amps, an entirely new gear slot, 36 different gear for that slot, 2 new objective types, 13 new maps, a new difficulty, a new enemy faction, 2 new enemy units for existing factions, a challenge system, 34 weekend events, and probably some other stuff i'm forgetting, all completely and 100% free. That's more than any other game's first attempt at multiplayer I can think of, and still more than most established multiplayer franchises. Complaining that N7 day wasn't some huge event where Bioware restored multiplayer support, or released another patch or DLC, or maxed all players' manifests just makes you look like an ****. Bioware infact did more than anyone was expecting them to do this year, which was nothing at all. I don't want to hear about how entitled you are and what you feel you're owed for playing a videogame for more than 15 minutes.

Exactly, same here. I'm just puzzled by all the reactions from other people who seem to be 'happy' for some reason. "OMG I played with a dev! N7 day greatest day of my life! Love you Bioware! You are amazing! Thank you so much Bioware for giving us this great game! You guys should be worshipped! I'm so happy right now!".

You've resorted to whining about how other people are happy.
That's called karma.

I'm not sure it's whining, more just wondering why Bioware deserved so much gratitude all of a sudden. I'm going to play with my friends later and by people's description, that's my N7 day. And every other day I play with friends. I'm not sure where Bioware's input is in this, because other then the end product of which I AM grateful for, they don't contribute to the game I love anymore.Jeremiah12LGeek wrote...

But I'm in no way questioning why you or other people are happy. If you enjoyed N7 day, then more power to you.

At the end of the day, this was the point I was making and sums up what I thought about N7 day and the decision to cut support altogether to ME3. If you want to believe otherwise, go right ahead... I'm out...Tyrant112580 wrote...

Oh, and they didn't have to do anything this year, but they did. In the words of every Batarian, "Stop whining!"
I like this game too much to not at the very least seek an explanation as to why Bioware stopped development so early and continue to take a back seat.
My friend it's because EA doesn't care about anything or anyone very simple.
This is what EA thinks of ME3 and all of us.

David, that's absurd. You've questioned several times a page why I and other people are happy.
We've already explained it to you. You keep rejecting our answers. Why should we answer anymore? You won't listen.

If that's how you truly feel you completely missed the point of N7 day. It's a day of remembrance, as in "Remember all that cool Mass Effect stuff Bioware gave us over the years?" "Yeah, that was mighty cool of them."XFG-65 wrote...

Anyone who thought we were getting new DLC or a revamp in the online support is a fool. That we can agree on. But not knowing why people around here all of a sudden are being grateful for the devs is just as dumb. It's like being confused as to why people are really grateful for veterans on Veteran's Day while saying, "They didn't do anything for me personally so why should I like them today?"

In keeping with promotion, some work hours could have been given up, so ex/current Bioware didn't have to use their own time. That's just marketing, and is factored into projects, much like training sick days etc. also would have enabled less Egmont centric randomness.
Computers were set up in the office for just this event and even I took about 2-3 hours out of my day to play, and I didn't even work on ME3.

But I phrased it wrong. I'm not saying you should or shouldn't be happy, I was just wondering why and the responses I've gotten haven't changed my opinion on the matter.

Thanks for taking the time out to respond. But I think it speaks volumes that a dev that wasn't even working on the game responds first. It's great that you took out time from your own day to play with regular people, but it would have been even better for example, if someone at bioware could make the tweaks to eliminate some of the glitches that people from PC on this very site have managed to do. Even if it was a PC only change, it would have really showed how much you guys care about this game.Allan Schumacher wrote...

I just felt underwhelmed by N7 day as a whole and felt you had a brilliant opportunity to surprise fans with something really great. But apparently, I'm in the minority, so...

What speaks volumes is that a dev responded AT ALL and yet you can't appreciate that.
You were late to the party. You missed Lodestar (apparently), just deal with it already.

At this point it's confirmation bias on your part. The only thing it "speaks volumes of" that I respond to this thread is that I'm reasonably active on the forums in general, and happened to notice this thread on the main page (since I spend most of my time in the DA forums).
However, with a response like this, I feel my words are being used against my colleagues which is an unfair situation, so I regret speaking up in this thread. I was interested in continuing a discussion, but you seem to be more inclined on making myself and others feel guilty for letting you down, which is a more adversarial way of talking things over rather than collaborative.
Sorry you were let down by what happened. It is what it is at this point and this thread is ceasing to be anything productive.

TL;DR you have a false sense of entitlement and just straight up bitter you didn't join the community sooner.

I bolded that part for palm... I'm sorry if you feel I'm being adversarial, because it wasn't my intention at all. Don't worry about me being let down, because I had no expectation in the first place, though I appreciate your concern. I'm cynical, so you have to understand why I'm left wondering why none of the ME3 devs responded first. I agree that this thread is worthless now, so as others have stated I wouldn't mind seeing it locked, because I feel I have my answer now. I only raised the question because I felt it needed discussion, but we're just going around in circles. Again, sorry if my post appeared aggressive to you and I appreciate the fact you posted in the first place.Allan Schumacher wrote...
