As a Warrior, is there a need to carry the various potions and herbs?  The health potions are obvious to carry around.

To use the herbs in potions you must have the healer skill - usually a mage skill. Your mage companions could have this skill... ;)

You don't need a healer to use herbs, only if you want to create new ones

You need neither a healer nor a mage to create potions - you need someone who has the herbalism skill, which can be learned by any class. Mages do start with one rank in this skill.

Most potions aren't useful IMO... unless you know what elemental spells the enemy is going to cast, you are better off selling the resistance potions you find. Sometimes enemies with powerful lightning attacks don't even use them, or only use them once, and with the short duration of these potions, it's easy to waste them if you assume they'll use it a second time. I would just keep the fire resistance ones because certain enemies use very powerful fire attacks, and once you meet them, it's obvious which ones I'm talking about.

The only potion I think is really useful is Swift Salve... but this can be duplicated by the Haste spell... although I think they stack. Rock Salve is okay too, but only while tanking bosses... it slows down your movements and attacks too much to use it against normal enemies.

Poison, on the other hand, is incredibly powerful. I suggest your warrior learn the basic poison skill so that you can use grenades and poison your weapons, but have somebody else actually make them. Certain characters start off with some degree of skill in poisoning, so it's easy to master that with a party member.

Oh, and if this advice on poison is at all releveant to what you are doing, keep in mind that making your own grenades can get very expensive.  Plus, there is only one merchant who sells infinite corrupter agents at a reasonable price (Bodhan is too expensive for me...).  It's best to just learn 1 or 2 recipies, and then late in the game if you have money to spare, pick a third.  You can then throw multiple grenades back to back... etc... I'm sure you get what I'm saying.
