Ok so I'm working on my playthru just hit 60 and am romancing Ashley. Going to be a total bad@ss. And working on the UNC mission because i hear it transfers over. My question is anyone know if you have to COMPLETE it or just have some of them to get the bonus?

I think it's based on the completion of the mission. Basically, in the saved game, there's probably a single variable for each collection mission that shows only whether you completed them, rather than exactly how many items you actually collected or what they were.

I don't think it transfers over from what I read. What I do know transfers over is the level and certain things like the Rachni and romances.

i didnt think it was all of them but i meant finish the quest. and @Realmjumper its listed on the wiki as things that transfer. along with the treatment of conrad, the council, and the rachni queen.

This was from OXM: When you import your save, the higher level you are, the better bonus you'll get at the start. Bonuses include: starting exp, minerals, credits and paragon/renegade (this is dependent on your alignment not level). Ive yet to see anything official on that that side quest, but so far the only OFFICIAL word is how high your level is.

I don´t think it´s gonna be that relevant. Probaly like the lvl 50/60 bonus on the begining, nice to have nut not necessary. But I think you have to complete it if you really want it.

I read somewhere on this forum (can't remember just now, as I have been drinking), that completion of the minerals mission gives you a few extra to start out with for the ship research stuff.

There is a bonus for completing the quest. This HAS been confirmed.  It confers a boost in your starting mineral resources, which are used for upgrades and such.

If in the playthough you import, you completed the quest, you will gaine the bonus.

Since all the minerals from ME1 don't transfer to ME2 (I think there's only 4 different ones in ME2) I think you need the whole quest completed.

Well technically the quest doesn't ask you to find ALL the minerals, only most of each.

You can get like 55/50 (or some such number) of a given mineral.

I find I usually have more then enough by the time I hit the end of the game. In my current playthrough, I had it complete before just before going to Virmire.

Assignment completion has something to do with a bonus to research, from what I've heard as well. Other side missions I've heard are how to deal with the Batali situation... and others that I can't recall right now.

Edit: It's not hard to find them all, just find at least one vein on every uncharted world you visit and scan all planets that you can, and you can find them all pretty fast. The limit you need is about half of the total number of minerals out there, something like that.

down at the save file transfer.

However, due to changes made to the game's levelling system, your character's level and abilities will not transfer over to Mass Effect 2 and you will start out with basic abilities.[5][6][7] However, the game will acknowledge your character's level and morality and adapt it in ways that map across to the new system[8] as well as grant bonus credits and minerals depending on actions the player took in Mass Effect.[9]

again i dont literally mean all the minerals i mean enough to complete the quest. I only wanted to get to 60 (being at 58) and did just enough to get it. and dont really wanna roam the planets till i max them to the completion.

it's not wikipedia, its wikia games or w/e, and if you don't trust it, just follow the sources that are linked, either the numbers next to the sentences or there could be a list at the bottom of the page.

It's not wikipedia, it's the Mass Effect wiki.

Anways, you can trust it or not. I can't find the dev quote, but that is where I am getting the info. It was a confirmed a couple of weeks back.
