that's funny how all the fanboys are shouting "troll" without actually discussing the arguments.

What arguments?

Some min/max reviewer throws out some arbitrary percentages that basically state that he/she is upset that he/she can't slum around in the Mako anymore?

Oh noes.

just to add here, the summary of the "Games Aktuell" Review:

Einschätzung: „sehr gut“ (6 von 6 Sternen)

„Nichts Revolutionäres, aber zielgerichtete Verbesserungen für ein großes Spielspaßplus!“

so the review is: very good ( 6 of 6 stars)

"Nothing revolutionary, but purposeful improvements for a huge plus of gaming fun"

(wacky translation, but you get the sense, everything but negative)

where in the universe did this reviewer said that he is upset ? reading skills are hard to get heh, fanboy ? + read the post just after yours, genius. 100 % defending this game is as idiotic as 100 % negative criticism. the lack of argumenting skills from both detractors and fanboys is depressing...at least reviewers have played the game.

Quite the unintelligent post, addressing and signifying nothing.

Actually, addressing and signifying everything worthy of the topic.

Well the numbers aren't that bad, and if ME2 is 50% larger then ME1 the actual time of exploration is exactly the same as ME1 :oP Just even more action!!! Were's the downside?

stop looking at reviews as the end all of a game. There have been tons of games taht didn't receive steller reviews and I still enjoy. And when it comes down to it, reviews are basically just opinions with a score card... everyone can have a different opinion. Take for example two seperate gaming sites in joystiq and destructoid... joystiq has alot of fun throwing insults at Left 4 Dead 2 while the guys at DToid love L4D2 with an almost necrophelliac charm, adversely... joystiq loved Assassin's Creed 2 while Dtoid pisses on Ezio... who's right and who's wrong?

okay fanboys... here's the clincher...

NOBODY is wrong. game reviews are simply media journalism... an opinion strongly rooted in the reviewers tastes...

if you let a review get between you and something you've been waiting for, you're pretty damn pathertic

not a surprise really, everyones been saying this one is way more about the combat, and without the mako its clearly less about exploration

Well thats not necessarily a bad thing, did anyone else find exploring uncharted worlds in the Mako a tedious chore?

i shouldve included that, i really didnt enjoy the mako parts at all. also im wondering if anyone else used the same strategy as i did on therum, noveria, feros, virmine, and ilos where i just drove past all the colossus' and armatures maybe shooting at the occasional one but if you drove fast enough you really never took too much damage because fighting in that POS sucked

Perhaps your reading skills need checking. I never mentioned anywhere that he/she said  they were upset. What I did say is that he/she basically stated  he/she was upset with the arbitrary percentage decrease for "exploring" with an increase in "action" and the original posters assertion that the game was "ruined"

What other kind of "exploring" is there? Walking around the Citadel? No, it was riding around planets in the Mako.

Critical thinking. Learn some.

1. Exploration was never fun in ME.
2. The only RPG part I care about in Mass Effect are the choices.
3. Shooter? Awesome. If you suck at FPS games, turn on autoaim.

Number crunching and 'phat lewts' mean far less to me than a good story and character customization.

A good game's a good game, regardless of genre or whatever arbitrary percentage people like to assign to the various gameplay aspects.

This sums up my feelings precisely. Mass Effect 2 looks more and more like the perfect blend to me.

Wow, I was just about to say something almost just like this.

-Exploration is my least favorite part of Mass Effect 1. The Mako parts of assignments were/are(I just finished every single one of them today for a playthrough) tedious as hell and the inside sections were cookiecutters. Mineral hunting/etc were just ways to put waypoints on a map. I hate it, I really really do. Hoping ME2 at least makes this part of the game tolerable.

-However, I liked the combat, just in a 'caring' way. As in, "Oh I wish you could do better - I have such high hopes for you!" :P Thankfully, ME2 has WORKED on that. This is a GOOD thing. Silly trolls.

-At the top of the list is plot and interesting dialogue. I'm sure the plot measures up ("main story is a bit disappointing" from OXM doesn't tell me anything bad really) and the dialogue looks to be FAR better than ME1. I'm a happy camper.
